Trailer for Wayward Pines Season 2 Shows The Town Under the Control of the First Generation, New Cast Brought in, Season to Throw Light On the Abbies!

The first trailer of Wayward Pines Season 2 has been released. The trailer throws light on the ten episodes that the second season will deal with, following the death of the main character, Ethan Burke played by Matt Dillon. Wayward Pines Season 2 will pick up from the surprise killing that shocked the fans in the finale of Season 1.

The series directed by M. Night Shymalan became a surprise success. Fox hadn’t thought that the post-apocalyptic series will be such a big attraction.

However, with life in a settlement with the remaining humans, coming to a stop because of the sudden arrival of monsters who are hyper-evolved, who wouldn’t want to watch more?

Based on the novel by Blake Crouch of a similar name, Fox had intended Wayward Pines to run only for ten episodes with a strong opening and an end that will not leave any knots unopened.

According to Christian Post, Blake Crouch was asked to be the executive producer of the series and seeing the response to the first season of Wayward Pines, they knew that the network and the audience will push for another season at least.

However, Blake and director M. Night Shymalan were very clear that they will proceed with Wayward Pines Season 2 only if they had a good story in hand.

It was believed that the town was a safe place for the residents, but ever since the incidents that have occurred in the last few episodes, it doesn’t seem true. The Abbies are now everywhere. They are already swarming the perimeters of the town and have also found out ways to come right in.

The first season had seen Dillon’s Ethan Burke who was in Secret Service, have an accident when his car is hit by a truck. Ethan’s wife, Theresa (Shannyn Sossamon) wonders why her husband has gone missing when Ethan wakes up to find that he has been trapped inside a town. On finding a familiar face, he asks if he is imagining the whole thing.

Wayward Pines Season 2 will see Djimon Hounsou play the role of C.J. Mitchum. It has been revealed that his is a character who is a very clear idea about the town and is aware of everything that is happening there. He is the town historian and it is his knowledge that connects the current times with the times when the humans would inhabit the earth.

Wayward Pines Season 2 will see the graduates from the academy taking control of the town, which looks like it is under a martial law. Mitchum will be forced to make a decision that will affect all those living in Wayward Pines.

Jason Patric’s character, Dr. Theo Yedlin, however, is someone who is still a mystery to the viewers. Dr. Theo Yedlin is a new resident of the town as he had recently woken up from a suspended animation.

He is going to be shown struggling to understand what is going on while the rebellion starts against the First Generation. Yedlin still doesn’t know anything about the mysterious town that he is living in and the season will see him exploring to find out more information about the place.

Apart from these two, Wayward Pines Season 2 will see Nimrat Kaur who is set to play the role of Rebecca, Theo’s wife. She will have secrets that she will keep away from her husband.

Josh Helman has been roped in to play the role of Xander, who will work to destroy Wayward Pines from inside its walls and Kacey Rohl will play the role of Kerry, who will be a lieutenant of Jason’s in the civil war that is going on in Wayward Pines.
