The new teaser for Game of Thrones Season 6 has been released and it lets out the major concept that has always been there in the series, i.e., you either win or you die.
As the viewers have learnt the hard way, there is no one in the world of Game of Thrones who is safe. The viewers have seen numerous characters being butchered to death and the question that they are now asking is, who’s next?
With the sixth season set to premiere on the 24th of April there is already a lot of anticipation about what the viewers can expect from the season. Game of Thrones Season 6 doesn’t have a book to fall back on and will be the handiwork of Weiss and Benioff.
The narrative that the series has so far seen were based on George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire. Since the author couldn’t complete the sixth novel, Winds of Winter, HBO had the task of going ahead with the series on their own.
Game of Thrones Season 5 had ended with the fate of Jon Snow hanging by a thin wire. He was stabbed to death by the brothers from the Night’s Watch and there is still no clue as to whether he will survive the attack.
Jon Snow was one of the most beloved characters in the novel and there are a lot of things that he had to achieve. Given the kind of popularity that he enjoys, there is a chance that HBO might bring him back. iDigital Times has stated that even if it is on the cards for HBO to get the character back, it isn’t going to be at the start of the season.
Melisandre, the Red Priestess has all kinds of powers. Since she knew what greatness Jon Snow is capable of, there are rumors that she might be able to infuse life back into him with the help of the Lord of Light that she worships.
There are some who believe that Jon Snow might be present in Game of Thrones Season 6 through his soul that will continue to live within the soul of Ghost, his dire wolf. HBO had revealed that it is planning on killing the character of Jon Snow, while Martin had said that he has different plans for him. In such a situation, fans will have to wait and watch to see what’s in store.
Season 5 saw Queen Cersei sent to trial and humiliated in front of the whole city. She has been asked to pay for her crimes of adultery by the High Sparrow. If Cersei stands losing the trial, she will be killed by the Faith that has seen power thanks to her indulgences.
There is a prophecy that has been mentioned in the novels, but hasn’t been brought to light in the HBO series yet and that is none of Cersei’s children are going to survive. The last season saw Princess Myrcelle die and it is likely that King Tommen will not survive very long.
For Cersei, her children are her life and if Tommen dies, she will be devastated and the High Sparrow might actually think that is punishment enough for her and let her off the trial.
Game of Thrones Season 6 is going to also throw light on the fate of Daenerys. She had started with a very strong hold, but then in Meereen she started to slip because of her ruthlessness.
