Xiaomi Mi5 Launch Delayed, Hardware Predictions Indicate A 20.7 MP Sony Rear-Camera, And More Details

Meanwhile, there are ongoing rumors regarding the hardware specifications of this upcoming device. Reports indicate that it will feature a 5.0inch or a 5.5inch display with a QHD resolution of 1,560X1, 440 pixels. The device will be powered by a 64-bit Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor along with a RAM configuration of 3GB or 4GB.

On the software and user interface aspect, the device will run on the latest Android Lollipop 5.0 platform with Xiaomi’s own MIUI. Further reports indicate that the Mi5 will feature a 20.7 megapixel Sony sensor on the rear followed by an unspecified front shooter with a wide-angle lens. If this rumor turns out to be true, then the device will feature a major upgrade over the 13MP Sony IMX214 shooter in the Mi4.

Further features indicate that the device will also feature a change in the design and layout with ultra-slim bezels. Other than that, it was earlier predicted that the Mi5 will include an Adreno 430 Graphics chipset which is certainly a massive leap over its predecessor. From the looks of it, Xiaomi will be targeting the high-end market with Mi5 and competing with powerful rival smartphones from manufacturers like LG, Samsung, Sony and Motorola among others.
