X-Men: Apocalypse Called Boring And Dated, Deadpool Promotes The Film In Japan, Series Based On Legion Being Worked On!

International Business Times has reported that the standalone film on Deadpool has encouraged the studio to go ahead with films based on single X-Men characters who haven’t enjoyed much space in any the X-Men films. In fact, Deadpool did way better when it comes to the box office earning as compared to X-Men: Apocalypse.

This has caused Simon Kinberg to state that it is not just the franchise that is popular, there are several characters from the franchise who have become popular with the audience beyond and above their franchise. There are characters like New Mutants, Deadpool, and Gambit, who have been created marvelously by the Marvel Studios.

Deadpool has been used by Marvel to market the X-Men: Apocalypse before it releases in Japan on 11th August. Deadpool released in Japan on 1st June and given the popularity the character enjoyed, the studio wanted to use it to promote their next.

According to Comic Book. Kinsberg also spoke about the series based on Legion. The series is going to be based completely on the character of Legion and will premiere in 2017 with eight episodes.

The studio is going ahead with only eight episodes to judge the reception of the series. The lead role of Legion will be portrayed by Dan Stevens and will also include Aubrey Plaza, Jeremie Harris, Rachel Keller and Jean Smart to name a few.

  1. I am so sick of this. Fox makes their X-Men in the exact same light that Marvel / Disney makes The Avengers, with similar “problems” and X-Men gets the blunt of the criticism. For my money, X-Men: DOFP was the best crafted superhero film ever made. Singer was so confident in his abilities, he stuck his face in front of the camera. It took me a long time to spot him… even though he’s literally right in front of the camera. That’s a sign of a truly great film. Ask Alfred Hitchcock. So, I went into X-Men: Apocalypse trusting that Singer knows what he’s doing and the film totally delivered. Everyone would rather tear Singer’s X-Men apart for the pettiest reasons than just trust in the filmmaker to give them an experience in the X-Men universe. They would rather trust the fundamental cinematography in The Avengers films. It’s easier to follow.

  3. Hey, while I agree that Chuck vrs Magneto has got to end, its like if Bond was still dealing with Dr No, this was in no way a bad film. I liked the new kids, I liked Wolverines cameo. The film has got the team finally looking like the comic book by the last scene. Moving forward get rid of Lawrence and Magneto, have Chuck cameo.
