WWE 2K17 is an upcoming wrestling video game that is being developed by Visual Concepts and Yuke’s. The game will be published by 2K Sports for the platforms of Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
The Money in the Bank Pay Per View just came to an end, and it saw Dean Ambrose becoming the WWE World Heavyweight Champion by cashing in his money in the bank contract. Dean Ambrose acquired the most coveted title in the WWE for the first time in his career.
This has led to speculations that the developers might decide to make him the cover star of the upcoming game. Ambrose has managed to create an impressive fan base with his quirky antics in and out of the WWE ring.
He is talented inside the ring and can manage to hold the attention of the audience when he is on the microphone. He could be touted as the total package that fans try to find in every other WWE superstar.
Keeping all the above facts in mind, it would not be surprising if the developers decide to keep him on the cover of WWE 2K17. It is often seen that 2K Games select the cover star depending on the Showcase.
WWE 2K15 featured the Showcase of John Cena and CM Punk and thus it had the former as the cover star. WWE 2K16 came with a Showcase that highlighted the career of Stone Cold Steve Austin, and thus he featured on the cover of the game.
If indeed Dean Ambrose is featured as the cover star of WWE 2K17, the game might come with a Showcase, which would focus on his early days in WWE, as a member of SHIELD.
Announcements regarding three WWE superstars who will be in the upcoming game was made at the recently concluded Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016. The event took place from June 14 to June 16, and it was held in Los Angeles, California.
The announcement was made in an unusual manner. It was seen that an artist was called upon to paint a portrait of the three superstars who will be in the game. The superstars being- WWE Hall of Famer Ultimate Warrior, John Cena, and Sasha Banks.
Sasha Banks is one of the top talents in the women’s wrestling department in WWE and John Cena is basically still the face of the company. It is not surprising that these two superstars will be included in the game. Sasha made her debut in WWE back in 2010, and this is the first time that she will be making an appearance in a WWE video game.
As for Ultimate Warrior, he was one of the greatest contributors to WWE. He passed away in 2014, and it is natural for WWE to include him in the game to pay respect to his memories.
The painting was made by Artist Rob Schamberger. He is a well-known face when it comes artworks related to WWE. Several of his works have been sold in the past for the purpose of raising money for charity.
It was announced by the developers some time back that those who pre-orders the upcoming game will become entitled to receive Goldberg as a bonus character. He will be available in two different versions in the game.
One of the versions will be Goldberg from WCW, and the other versions will be Goldberg from WWE. The WCW version of Goldberg will be seen wearing the black trunks while the WWE version of Goldberg will be seen wearing the black and white trunks.
