WWE 2K16 will release within the next three months and gamers are starting to get more details on the upcoming player roster. At the same time, gamers are most probably getting a positive response in their demands for a new wrestler to adorn the cover for WWE 2K16.
2K Sports and Take-Two Interactive’s title hasn’t received a confirmed player roster yet. The official website doesn’t have an active roster tab for the latest version of this wrestling franchise. Meanwhile, there are several ongoing rumors regarding the possible characters to be featured in this game. Eve Marie, WWE Diva is also rumored to be included in the roster.
Right now, this rumor hasn’t received any confirmation but she posted a photo of a commercial shoot, designed for this game. Among the wrestlers, Seth Rollins is the only other actor who has shot a video for WWE 2K16. He is one of the six wrestlers who have been confirmed in the 2K16 roster along with Steve Austin who graces the present cover.
Meanwhile, gamers are not at all happy about another classic wrestler being featured on the cover and the game developers have already received some disapproving remarks. Fans of this game, comprised of both the video and the television show, have expressed their dislike about seeing a classic WWE Superstar being featured on the cover.
Earlier in 2K14, they wanted an active wrestler on the game’s cover and instead they received The Rock and John Cena and they are already inactive from WWE during the time of its release. Bleacher Report analyzed this issue and declared that placing Steve Austin on the cover will gain the approval of a ‘nostalgic fanbase’ but it doesn’t bode well for the future of this franchise.
In the meantime, recent speculations are suggesting that Boogeyman will be added to the roster. Recently, Boogeyman posted a tweet which said, “BOOGEYMAN WWE2k16…make some noise WWE UNIVERSE.” As a result, some websites like Product Reviews deduced that he will definitely be included in the roster.
At the same time, this could be a part of a bigger plan to convince Triple H and Vince McMahon to include him in the roster. He posted a photo with him personally posing with the WWE 2K16 logo positioned on the image.
However, 2K Sports hasn’t confirmed his inclusion. ‘What Culture’ thinks that he might be campaigning to be included in the game or he is simply showing off his inclusion in the upcoming roster.
He is another one of those inactive fighters who hasn’t been in the ring since 2009 besides some minor appearances. In the years that followed, he hasn’t been that active. Right now, it seems like, being in the WWE 2K16 player roster doesn’t depend on whether the fighters are active or inactive.
This is further corroborated by the fact that WWE Diva Natalya revealed that her dad Neidhart will be a playable character in the upcoming title. He is famously known as ‘The Anvil’ and he wrestled along with Bret Hart as his tag-team partner. Needless to say, he hasn’t been in the ring for quite a long time and was last seen in Wrestlemania 2 Battle Royal as one of the last three men standing.
Reports suggest that there will be 120 characters in this game. Several WWE Stars who have already been confirmed are Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, Bad News Barrett, Paige, and Finn Balor. Latest news reports indicate that the game’s showcase mode will feature the Rattlesnake’s (Stone Cold Steve Austin) road to success during the WWE Attitude era.
