Winds of Winter: Polish Translator Hints At a March 2016 Release Date, Nothing Official From George R.R Martin!

There have been reports since November that Winds of Winter, the sixth book in the fantasy novel series of ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ by George R.R Martin will come out anytime between October this year to March 2016. It will take place right before Season 6 of Game of Thrones airs on TV in HBO on the month of April.

In the meantime, Martin has been quite secretive about the release date of Winds of Winter. Furthermore, he declared that he is yet to finish the book which most fans found quite difficult to believe. According to the author, he has to finish writing two books and one of them is Winds of Winter and as a result, he still has a lot on his plate.

He further admitted that he is quite a slow writer and fans get pretty annoyed with it as well. Martin further admitted that he faces the pressure of finishing the book soon in order to make sure it comes out before Season 6 of Game of Thrones.

As of now, everyone believes that Martin has finished writing Winds of Winter and he is just pretending to know nothing about the release date, since the book will contain major spoilers regarding Season 6 of Game of Thrones, to be aired on TV soon.

In the meantime, Michael Jakuszewski, a Polish translator let slip that he has been approached The Winds of Winter publishers in order to reserve his time before the end of the year so that he can translate the sixth book in ‘The Song of Ice and Fire’ series.

Polish website Piesn Lodu I Ognia also published the interview with Michael but the translator said in the same website that he is not sure about the validity of the information relayed to him and this was noted by the Independent of UK.

According to the timetable related by the Polish translator, it seems like the book has already been completed and is currently under mass-production, at least its English version is. Meanwhile, GRRM has been saying for a long time that when the book is ready to be published, he will be the one to declare it worldwide, through his own website.

He did not make any comments regarding the slip made by the Polish Translator. In case the book is translated by the end of the year, this means that it will come out early in 2016. This is quite consistent with the timetable that Winds of Winter will release before March 2016.

At the same time, Martin has responded to rumors regarding the Game of Thrones movie being presently under works. During a post-Emmy awards party, GRRM declared that he doesn’t want to be a part of any film version of the novel because he has a lot of things to do.

However, this gave rise to speculations regarding the possible development of the film. He further declared that the comment was out of context and therefore it is not true that a Game of Thrones movie is presently under works but at the same time, he finds the idea quite powerful and attractive.

After declaring that he doesn’t wish to be a part of any movie based on his novel, he even added that this is something that series producers and writers DB Weiss and David Benioff will have to deal with.
