Winds of Winter: Martin Still Not Certain About The Deadline, Denied Rumors About Benjon Stark and Jon Snow, More Details

The wait just doesn’t seem to end for the fans of the A Song of Ice and Fire series. The sixth book in the series, to be called Winds of Winters, is still being written and George R.R. Martin is unsure about when it’s going to end.

Martin has received a lot of criticism for the slow pace in which he writes. He has, however, told the fans that the wait for Winds of Winter is going to be worth it. There are rumors that the delay and the subsequent rush to finish the book, has made Martin take the help of other authors as well.

While waiting for Winds of Winter, fans have started speculating about what to expect from the next book in the series. This has not been a very fruitful venture since Martin has been shooting them all down, including the fact that Benjen Stark will be seen in the upcoming book.

There was a lot of speculation that Coldhands is actually Benjen Stark, the brother of Ned Stark, the Lord of Winterfell. George R. R. Martin has always been very clear about his plots and characters and when he says a no to a spoiler, it is a no and hence fans can move on from the reports that Benjen Stark is back.

With the HBO hit series Game of Thrones being halfway through its fifth season, there is apprehension that the slow pace of the author could affect the television series. Would a wait of a year be enough for Martin to complete Winds of Winter, so that Game of Thrones can borrow material from it or will the creators of the T.V series proceed on their own?

Martin has said that he will cut down on his public appearances and will skip a few conventions and premiere so that he can devote his time on completing the book. With four years since the last book, A Dance With Dragons, the fans are running out of patience.
