Winds of Winter: Martin Puts An End To Rumors, Misses Comic-Con, And More!

Fans are eagerly waiting for George R. R. Martin to provide any information about the upcoming novel Winds of Winter. The HBO Game of Thrones that is based on the ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series ended its fifth season in a cliff-hanger and fans are hopeful that the sixth book will give them their much needed answer.

Game of Thrones Season 5 and A Dance with Dragons, the fifth book in the A Song of Ice and Fire ended with Jon Snow being stabbed by his brothers at the Night’s Watch and being left to die alone on the snow.

Jon Snow was one of the most beloved characters in the entire series and fans are devastated with the fact that George R.R Martin would kill another character that the fans of the series has been rooting for since the very first book.

However, Martin is an author who never pays heed to the sentiments of the fans and he has no qualms in killing off a character if the story requires him to do so. He has killed a lot of characters in each of the books and by the looks of it Jon Snow is set to have a similar fate.

Winds of Winter has been five years in the making and fans are running out of patience. A Dance with Dragons was released in 2011 and fans have been waiting since then to find out what’s in store for Jon Snow.

Initially there were reports that HBO will go ahead and create the sixth season of Game of Thrones on their own, based on the story line so far, but recently it was reported that Game of Thrones Season 6 will be based on Winds of Winter.

Game of Thrones Season 6 is set to release on March 2016, which gives fans hope that the book will be out before that. Martin has not yet made an official comment about how far he is in the writing process, but he has been going ahead meeting his other commitments, which he had decided to put off until he was done with Winds of Winter.

Game of Thrones director, Jack Bender created a huge furor when he revealed in a Reddit session that he had read the manuscript of Winds of Winter. He was asked by a fan if he has read the sixth book of the series on which the television series is based on and he gave a prompt affirmative reply to the query.

In an attempt to control the damage, there were statements following Jack Bender’s comment that went on to clarify that he had meant the script for the Game of Thrones Season 6 and not the manuscript for the sixth book Winds of Winter.

It was too late and fans were already excited to pay any heed to this statement. They found it odd that unlike Jack Bender’s usual self he had refrained from making any further comments on the issue. It was a clear sign that Bender had made a terrible PR mistake and he was asked to refrain from further comments on the issue.

His comment made a huge buzz on the internet with fans claiming that Winds of Winter is finished with and it is being printed secretly to be released within October. This buzz was, however, killed by George R. R. Martin who said that he will official reveal the fact that he has completed the book and if he hasn’t yet, it means that Winds of Winter isn’t complete.
