Jack Bender, the director of Game of Thrones further added to this speculation about Winds of Winter being over when he replied in affirmative to a fan when asked on Reddit if he has read the sixth installment.
There was immediate clarification from the PR firm that Bender had confused the manuscript of Winds of Winter with the draft of the script for the sixth season of Game of Thrones.
In a fashion very unlike Jack Bender, he made no further comments on the issue. This act of his was presumed by fans was to stop him from speaking out more than he was supposed to. Fans were elated that the book was ready and that George R. R Martin was soon going to make the official announcement.
Martin has since then come out to deny all rumors related to the completion of Winds of Winter. He urged fans not to believe everything that they read or heard. He also assured them that he would be making the official announcement after Winds of Winter was done.
