Walker and Donna Believed to Be Working Together, Fans to Enjoy Longer Episodes in Longmire Season 5!

There is a lot of excitement about the news that Longmire has been renewed for the fifth season, but there wasn’t any news from Netflix about when fans can expect the show to be released. Longmire Season 5, as Master Herald has reported is going to start the production on 23^rd March and the series will pick Season 5 from the exact place that it had ended in the last finale.

The last thing that the viewers had seen on Longmire Season 4 was that an intruder had broken into the house of Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) while he was enjoying some time with Dr. Donna Monaghan (Amy Walker). There have been a lot of speculation about who this intruder could be and the most common assumption was that it is Walker Benjamin (Callum Keith Rennie).

With Netflix not being forthcoming about any detail from Longmire Season 5, fans have been making their own assumptions and are going ahead with it until proven wrong by Netflix. It is believed that Donna isn’t as clean as the viewers and Walt expect her to be and she is in fact in cahoots with the intruder and she had been asked to head to Walt’s place so that he could be distracted.

Walker had always harboured deep distrust and hatred for Walt and it wouldn’t have been possible for him to find out the exact location of Walt Longmire’s home from the hospital bed unless he had outside help from someone. It is likely that Donna Monaghan was the one who had furnished him with the details of Walt’s address.

There are talks that Longmire Season 5 will focus heavily on Longmire’s personal life. With Netflix not being forthcoming on what fans could expect in the coming season, there were a lot of discussion about what fans should be prepared for in Season 5 and in order to pacify fans, the official Facebook page of Longmire shared a photo of Vic (Katee Sackhoff) and Longmire and asked what fans thought of the pairing.

The pair actually end up together in the novel, by Craig Johnson on which the series has been based, but the age difference between Vic and Longmire in the series doesn’t support this plot. Vic is almost as young as Longmire’s daughter and this looks like a primary reason for the showrunners casting a younger actress in Vic’s role.

Longmire Season 5 will see Walt getting to know Donna and getting attracted to her, but there is a chance that she might be one of the bad guys and this will ultimately stop from going forward with her. Fans are of the opinion that Walt will not find out about Donna’s real nature until the very end of the season.

Given the success of Longmire, Netflix has decided to increase the timing for each episode of Longmire Season 5. The show will have the usual ten episodes, but will have each episode running for 20 minutes extra, which will make the final duration of each episode to almost an hour.

This news had made the fans very happy since they get to see the plot progress at a normal pace with more detail on the development of the characters. Lou Diamond Phillips, who plays the role of Henry Standing Bear has said that the story for the minor characters usually gets edited, but now with each episode becoming longer there is a chance that the minor characters will be developed better.
