After Facebook took over WhatsApp, several new features were introduced. These include the presence of blue ticks to indicate your messages have been seen along with the introduction of WhatsApp Web for PC users in the near future.
WhatsApp is free except for the first year after which users will need to start paying a $0.99 annual fee.

Similar to WeChat and Skype, Line offers free voice and video calling services. Line and WeChat make use of the same registration process where users are required to provide their phone numbers to be used as the account ID.
It has the largest collection of stickers compared to apps like WeChat and Viber. Furthermore, an intelligent sticker solution studies your conversations and predicts your present mood.
Verdict:
All of these are free applications and simply require an internet connection in order to use their services. Thankfully, these are all cross-platform applications and can be downloaded for free from Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Viber is a very good app. I like it for it’s clarity of voice calls. But WhatsApp or WeChat are not also bad either.
