Verizon Rolls Out The Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update On Samsung Galaxy S5, Users Complain Of Issue With Fingerprint And Lock Device Security Features Post Update, More Details

There’s good news for the users of Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4. Both the devices are getting the latest Marshmallow 6.0 update on the Verizon network. The Verizon Wireless is giving the users of their network the much-anticipated upgrade, and it is being considered a major software upgrade for the device. It was Verizon Wireless who had confirmed that they will be upgrading the OS of both Samsung S5 and Galaxy Note 4.

Tech Times reported that Verizon had announced that they will be rolling out the version software MMB29M.G900VVRU2DPD1 for the Samsung Galaxy S5. This will give the device the Marshmallow update and will give the device the latest features when it comes to the update of app icons, Wi-Fi calling, and an improved sound quality among other things.

Immediately after Verizon Wireless announced the Android Marshmallow 6.0 update on the Samsung Galaxy S5, they announced that a similar update will be available even on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 phablet. Verizon followed the footsteps of Sprint in giving their customers the much-awaited update on both the devices.

While T-Mobile has already updated the Android to Marshmallow 6.0 for the users of Samsung Galaxy S5 on their network, the users of Galaxy Note 4 will have to wait for the update to be available on their phablets. The main reason for the delay in the update for Galaxy Note 4 users is that T-Mobile has listed the product at being in a development stage, and it is only the first phase of the three-phase update process.

International Business Times has reported that the Samsung Galaxy 5 Marshmallow update will bring in some exciting firmware updates to the device. The users can use features like Now on Tap, Google Now on Tap, Doze, and Runtime Permissions. Apart from the Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung has rolled out the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow update on the Galaxy S5 Sport, S5 Edge, S6, S6+, Note 5, Note Edge, Note 4 and also the Galaxy A9.

The Korean smartphone giant has come out with standard instructions that will help the users of Galaxy S5 effortlessly install and update the Marshmallow version of Android. The users of the device have been asked to search for OS updates if the notification doesn’t automatically appear.

They can then download the update and press the restart and install option. This will begin the reboot automatically, and the installing system update notification will start, and the upgrade will automatically start proceeding. Once the process is complete, the device will run on Android Marshmallow.

There was a lot of excitement surrounding the Android Marshmallow update, but it looks like there are some glitches that Samsung needs to address immediately.

The primary problem that users of Samsung Galaxy S5 are facing with their update is that the phone is locking them out because of some faults in the password and the fingerprint security features.

The issue was first brought into the limelight when Reddit user said that his fingerprint was not recognized by the device and he couldn’t bypass the issue with the help of the backup password and Google sign in. It is important to mention that not all devices have faced this issue. There are a few devices which have gone through this and tech experts are suggesting that they hold off from updating their devices to the Android Marshmallow.
