According to Entertainment Weekly Transformers 5 is planning for a 2017 release. In a Hasbro conference call CEO Brian Goldner confirmed that Transformers 5 is going to go deep into the mythology of the Transformer series with the help of the brand that has been around for 30 years.
Akiva Goldsman and his team are also scourging through the entire brand image of Transformers to come up with inputs that might help them develop a solid back story and plot for the upcoming film.
Mark Wahlberg has confirmed that he is going to be back in Transformers 5. He has also said that once Michael Bay is going to be back from Benghazi soon and once he is here, they will be sitting down to discuss the script for Transformers 5.
Paramount Studios is believed to have been planning a spin-off for Transformers and it is likely that they will join with G.I Joe. Transformers franchise has been the most successful venture for the studio and it seems like they are not going to let go of the profit from this one easily.
There are rumors that Bruce Willis and Dwayne Jonson might be a part of the upcoming movie and it might also have a tie up with the G.I Joe series.
