Thor: Ragnarok is going to be the third installment in the popular Thor series of superhero films. The last released film of this series was Thor: The Dark World which hit the big screen back in 2013.

A number of rumors and spoilers are already coming to light regarding the upcoming film. It has been confirmed that the upcoming film will not see the return of the character of Dr. Erik Selvig.

This character has been played by Stellan Skarsgard in the previous Thor films. Skarsgard himself gave confirmation to the fact that he won’t be reprising his role of Dr. Erik Selvig for Thor: Ragnarok.

Apart from appearing in the previous Thor films, the character of Dr. Slevig was also seen in the two Avengers films that have been released till date. The character’s last appearance was in the movie- Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Stellan Skarsgard stated that he has a five-film deal with Marvel Studios. He has already appeared in four Marvel films till date. However, his fifth appearance won’t be in the upcoming Thor movie.

He might be seen reprising his character in the next Avengers movie that is Avengers: Infinity War. The latest reports suggest that the character of Dr. Selvig has already been added to Avengers: Infinity War as the 68th character.

Joe and Anthony Russo, the brother-director duo who helmed the director’s chair for Captain America: Civil War, will also be directing Avengers: Infinity War. The duo previously stated that they would try to incorporate at least 67 characters in the movie. Thus addition of Dr. Slevig to the roster would naturally make him the 68th character.

As for Thor: Ragnarok, it was reported that much of the action will take place in the Nine Realms in the Marvel Universe. Lesser amount of action on Earth would mean that the film would feature a lesser amount of earthlings compared to its predecessors.

The upcoming movie will reportedly bring forth the answers to a number of questions that were left unanswered in the previous two Thor films. Fans saw that the ending of Thor: The Dark World was a bit bizarre as it was shown that the one sitting on the throne as Odin was actually Loki, the God of Mischief.

Fans were left wondering about the whereabouts of the real Odin. The upcoming film will likely shed more light into the matter.

The film might also reveal more information on the Aether. The Aether was handed over to the Collector by Lady Sif and Volstagg. However, in Guardians of Galaxy, fans saw that Taneleer Tevan’s base was completely destroyed.

Various reports suggest that the Aether was stolen by someone from among the collection. The arrow points towards a certain Adam Warlock. There is a possibility that after emerging from his cocoon, Warlock made off with the Aether.

Thor: Ragnarok is also likely to shed more light onto the matter of Thor’s visions. He was seen having certain visions in Avengers: Age of Ultron. It is likely that this aspect will be explored in depth in the upcoming movie.

A particular rumor floating around the internet suggest that Cate Blanchett might make an appearance in the film. If indeed she appears in the movie, she will most likely play the role of villain Amora the Enchantress in it. However, there has been no confirmation regarding this matter from either the studio or the actress herself.

It has ben confirmed that Mark Ruffalo will reprise his roles of Bruce Banner and Hulk for the film. The addition of this character to a Thor movie came as a surprise to some fans. it is being assumed that the Hulk will once again be brought under his control by Loki. Apparently, he would try to utilize Hulk’s immense power to his benefits.
