Simon Baker the Australian actor of The Mentalist is all set to take up a completely different role now. The actor is all set to go behind the camera. Yes, that is right! Simon will be directing an upcoming film, adapted from the famous novel of Tim Winton named Breath.

The actor has been looking to take up this job for a while now and it is now that he feels, he can do justice to the job and hence taking it in his hand. He says he is ready for the job of a director.

The actor was humble enough to say that his role of Patrick Jane on The Mentalist has helped him to learn the skill-set required to be a director. The 45 year old actor has been part of the U.S TV show for a while now.

The Mentalist started back in 2008 and was a great hit until few months back when the show wrapped up things for good after seven fruitful seasons.
