The Legend Of Zelda Wii U: Steady Drop in the Series’ Popularity, Trailer Cancelled To Avoid Disappointment, And More

Nintendo first gave a glimpse of The Legend of Zelda to the gamers in 2014 E3 and since then the company has been tight-lipped.There were reports that Nintendo is waiting for the release of NX, a game console.

This move raised some doubts since it meant that Nintendo didn’t want to stick to Wii U in spite of reportedly selling more than 10 million units. Hardcore Gamer has confirmed this news and there are no new reports about when The Legend of Zelda is expected to release.

With The Legend of Zelda news currently trending, there was a rumor doing the rounds that Amazon is working on a pilot for the game. Yes, Amazon is working with a Zelda project titled Z, but this one is related to Zelda Fitzgerald, the wife of author Scott Fitzgerald and not the Nintendo gaming series The Legend of Zelda.

  1. The Legend of Zelda is less popular in Japan than Final Fantasy… No surprise there; Zelda and Metroid have always done better internationally than in Japan. This would be more interesting if it cited global numbers and not just those in Japan.

  2. I’m quite surprised that, they cancelled the legend of zelda trailer. Also I really can’t believe that Zelda’s popularity is receding, because I still love and it and so does a lot of the gaming community.

  3. Nintendo’s press conference was disappointing anyway, so not showing the trailer was dumb. This also doesn’t make sense, they announced a while ago they were not showing the trailer because they were focusing on games being released this year and early next year. E3 is also a western event – focusing on how unpopular LoZ, which it’s always been, because Japan may have been upset is a poor decision. Furthermore, what’s ironic is SE didn’t even show FF15 at their press conference, and had the worst press conference at E3 just like usual.
