Baranski also addressed the rumors about a spin-off of The Good Wife. She said that there are similar rumors whenever a popular series is coming to an end. It is the only way that the viewers can console themselves about the series coming to an end. She added that it’s been a treat working with the Kings on The Good Wife and she would love to be involved with them in whatever they plan next.
Matt Czuchry spoke to Entertainment Weekly at the Tribeca Film Festival and said that there are still no concrete plans for a spin-off. The creative team and the cast are still trying to cope with the fact that The Good Wife is over and they haven’t been able to look beyond it. They are still looking for a closure from something that has been a part of their life for seven years.
He added that this isn’t an answer that is said to avoid the question of what is next; it is an honest answer since they are still trying to figure out what’s next after The Good Wife. Given that the show was such a long running experience, they will need some more time to cleanse it off their system to go ahead with something different or based on it.
