Asus Zenfone 2 is a Great Performer with a Clumsy Outlook, Set to Receive the Android 5.1.1 Update Soon!

Both of them sport a 5.5-inch HD IPS Display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and an amazing pixel density of 403ppi. The 13 megapixel rear shooter is equipped with features like dual-LED flash light, a bright f/2.0 aperture, HDR, and Manual and Low Light modes.

The camera is good enough to capture decent images in optimal lighting conditions. Once you play around with the manual settings, you will tend to avoid the noise that seeps in during low-light conditions. One of the more interesting features is the addition of a “Super Resolution Mode” which takes various shots to make a huge 52megapixel image. At the same time, it doesn’t really bump up the quality much.

Meanwhile, the latest reports indicate that Asus Zenfone 2 will receive the Android 5.1.1 update. It comes as good news since there are several other devices which were released earlier but didn’t receive the update. For the Asus Zenfone 2, this version is currently in the final stages of testing and will release as soon as possible. Sadly, they still don’t have any confirmation on the official release date.

An Asus Support Staff told an inquisitive user that they are aware of how the customers are waiting for the latest update and that the device is currently in its final stages of testing with the latest firmware. Right now, there is no information on whether the other variants (ZE500CL and ZE551ML) will receive the latest update.

Stay tuned for more updates on Asus Zenfone 2!

  1. Regarding one handed use, it’s already implemented. In the quick settings menu, there is a toggle for One Handed Operation, which reduces the screen to take up only a portion on either the right or left side. You can also customize it further in settings so that a double tap of the home button will automatically switch it to one handed mode.
I’ve used it quite a bit, and makes handling the phone a pleasant experience.

  3. I found the device to have great performance and to be super fast. However, over the three weeks I used the device as my primary phone, it had difficulty consistently staying connected to WiFi…. That glitch slowed me down significantly as it repeatedly tried to refind the connection. Since the WiFi connections are strong in my home and no other device has experienced this, I am assuming this is a software bug. Hopefully that will be corrected in a future software update. Until then, I will be using another device as my primary phone….
