Some of the names that feature in the wishlist of fans for the next character to be added to the game include, Dixie Kong, Isaac from Golden Sun, an Inkling from Splatoon and Ridley from Metroid.
Just in the recent past certain supposedly leaked images of an upcoming DLC for the game showed the famous character of Shovel Knight as a part of the DLC. The leak claimed that the character will be added to the game as a playable character through the update. However, this rumor was promptly shot down by Yacht Games, the developer of the Shovel Knight platform.
The developer clearly stated that their character, the Shovel Knight won’t be joining the game’s roster and all of these was just a rumor after all. Recently when the matter resurfaced online, Yacht Games reiterated their statement regarding Shovel Knight making it clear once again that the character will not show up in Super Smash Bros 4.
There has been no official statement from Nintendo regarding this rumor and fans are taking this fact as a sign that the complete thing wasn’t just a hoax after all and there is still hope for their favorite character to make an appearance in the game in future.
