Steve Carell Praises Ryan Gosling; the Latter Considers Himself Lucky To Have Eva and Esmeralda!

Ryan Gosling teamed up with Brad Pitt, Christian Bale and Steve Carell for the new film The Big Short and this again marks his comeback to the big screen. Furthermore, it marks the return of Adam McKay as the director. Gosling, the incredibly sexy Oscar winner has been a part of some wonderful movies in the past.

Let’s take a look at some his finest performances in movies so far. Drive is a movie that features one of the best performances from Ryan Gosling and it is a favorite among most Ryan Gosling fans. Ryan Gosling teamed up with filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn for the first time in his life and this resulted in an awesome release back in 2011.

The movie is actually based on a book by James Sallis and it follows a stuntman and mechanic who get himself into some major trouble while trying to help out his family and neighbors. He creates a really powerful character that is filled to the brim with intrigue and mystery but at the same time, he doesn’t really speak that much.

He manages to captivate the audience with his amazing performance and his single look speaks a lot more than a whole bunch of words. When it comes to Gosling, this is a different kind of character and performance but Gosling really excels at it.

Meanwhile, it has been 10 years since Gosling performed in Half Nelson and Gosling was not at all a stranger to the big screen at this time. In Half Nelson, we got to see a very different side of his acting skills. In Half Nelson, Gosling took on the central role of Dan Dunne, who is an inner-city high school teacher, struggling with a drug habit.

When his secret is discovered by a student, he manages to strike up an unusual friendship with her. He was awarded the first Best-Actor Oscar Nomination with his wonderful performance in Half Nelson. Sadly, he lost to Forest Whitaker for his role as Idi Amin in The Last King of Scotland.

Meanwhile, Derek Cianfrance teamed up with Michele Williams and Gosling for only the second feature film of his career in 2011 and this resulted in Blue Valentine being released.

In Blue Valentine, we get to witness the ups and downs in the relationship between David and Cindy over several years. Viewer witness how they how they met, their years of marriage, the failure of that marriage, and the role played by both of them in that failure.

Ryan Gosling declared that he is very happy to have Eva Mendes and his wonderful daughter Esmeralda. He stated that Eva Mendes is his ideal woman and he is greatly in love with their 16-month old girl Esmeralda, as reported by Femalefirst.

He stated, “My biggest investment is my family. I’m with the person I’m supposed to be with – I’m not looking for anything else beyond Eva – and I feel very lucky that we have a beautiful, healthy daughter, who is an angel. That’s investment enough for me.”

The actor is ironically unsure whether he is a good father but he admitted that he tries to be as great as possible. When he was asked as to how he fares as a father, Ryan replied, “You’d have to ask my girlfriend really – all I can say is that it’s important for me to be there for my daughter and that I want to be there too, because it’s so fun.”

In other news, during the recent Golden Globe Awards, Steve Carell lost out to Matt Damon in the Best Actor-Comedy or Musical category.

While speaking exclusively with TEN, Carell revealed that Gosling is very funny and he has worked with him before (Crazy, Stupid, Love in 2011). He said that Gosling is a really great improviser and it is difficult to imagine what is going to come out of his mouth next.
