Well this totally completes the new trilogy of Star Wars film that is Brick and Looper director Rian Johnson has already been declared as the director of Star Wars Episode 8.
Trevorrow directing Star Wars Episode 9 will be his second main studio film and will also be his third movie in these five years of his career. His first film was a short film and his second movie Safety Not Guaranteed was a smashing indie hit and his third movie Jurassic Park was again a grand hit at the box-office which earned $1.4 billion.
Star Wars will still have bounty of surprises at its panel at Comic-Con on Friday. But this very fact of Trevorrow directing the Star Wars Episode 9 has been announced.
