Spoilers for The Second Season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Surface, Justice Society of America to Feature in The Upcoming Season, And More

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is an American action-adventure television series that has been developed by Greg Berlanti, Phil Klemmer, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim. The first episode of the first season of Legends of Tomorrow made its debut on CW back in January 11, 2016.

The show has been an instant hit among fans and it has already been renewed by CW for another run. It has come to light that the characters of Hawkman and Hawkgirl will not be making appearances in the second season.

The character of Hawkman was portrayed by Falk Hentschel and Hawkgirl was played by Ciara Renee. The main connection of these two characters was to the villain of season 1- Vandal Savage, played by Casper Crump.

As can be seen in the finale episode of the recently concluded first season, that Vandal Savage has been defeated. In a way, the purpose of the characters of Hawkman and Hawkgirl has been served and thus they will no longer be a part of the superhero roster of the next season.

It has also come to light that the appearances of the character of Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold will be scarce in the upcoming season. It is a known fact that Lenard Snart sacrificed himself for the team in season 1. This character is played by Wentworth Miller and as per reports, he will be getting very limited amount of screen time in season 2.

Apparently, Miller had signed a short term deal with DC and it was clear from the beginning that his outing as Captain Cold in the show will not be a very long one. As for the matter of Hawkgirl and Hawkman, the showrunners are of the opinion that it will not be right to bring them back in season 2 immediately after they defeated Savage in season 1.

After a long and hard struggle, they were finally free from the fear of Savage who has been murdering them in every life. The showrunners felt that giving some time off to these characters was the right thing to do.

Marc Guggenheim, the executive producer of the show shed some light on the characters that will feature in the next season. He stated that the season will feature even more superheroes. Hourman will be introduced in the second season along with his teammates who form the Justice Society of America.

The Justice Society of America is known as the precursor of the Justice League. The first appearance of the Justice League was back in 1940. It was the first team of superheroes that was featured in a comic book. The superheroes that were a part of this team included the likes of The Flash, Green Lantern, Sandman, Hourman, Hawkman, Doctor Fate, The Atom and The Spectre.

That being said, it has not yet been revealed by the showrunners as to which of these characters will be making appearances in the second season. Reports state that the threat that the superheroes will face in the upcoming season will be quite bigger to the one they faced in the first.

Guggenheim revealed that Valdal Savage was a stroll in the park compared to the threat that they will be facing in season 2. He added– “This will be a much, much bigger threat. I’m going to leave it at that because when we do reveal it, it’s going to be pretty big. People will be asking, ‘Vandal who?’ once they get the full picture of what our team is up against. It’s going to be way bigger than what you can even imagine, I can guarantee it.”
