Specs and Launch Rumors of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, Ex-Google CEO Says S7 Is Better than the Apple iPhone 6S!

The internet is abuzz with rumors surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active. It was earlier rumored that this device will feature a 5.5inch display, similar to the Galaxy S7. However, according to latest reports, it will have a 5.1inch screen. It seems like Samsung has been unsuccessful with keeping all details under wraps.

The Galaxy S7 Active first leaked in March when it was rumored to be under testing with AT&T. However, it didn’t come as a surprise since Samsung has been launching Galaxy S7 Active devices every year and it started with the S4 Active, back in 2013. After that, S5 Active was released in 2014 and S6 Active in 2015.

In May, the device was featured in GFXBench and most of the smartphone specifications was confirmed. It was claimed that the device has a 5.5inch display with a resolution of 2560x1440HD display.

This would make it larger than the Galaxy S6 Active with a 5.1inch screen. However, recent reports indicate that it will come with the same 5.1inch quad-HD display found in the Galaxy S7.

According to an official spec sheet from Venture Beat, the device will have a Snapdragon 820 processor, 32GB of internal storage, 4GB of RAM along with a microSD expansion. It will run on Android Marshmallow out of the box.

Similar to the S7 and S7 Edge, the device will have features like dual-megapixel camera equipped with a dual pixel sensor. It will feature a 5-megapixel front facing camera and Optical Image Stabilization. Rumors indicate that this device will be launched on 10th June by Samsung and AT&T.

During a recent interview at the Startup Fest conference, Eric Schmidt said that Galaxy S7 is better than the Apple iPhone 6S and Apple users already know it. Schmidt served as the Google CEO from 2001 till 2011 January and currently he is the executive chairman of Alphabet Inc, parent company.

This software engineer from USA spoke during the Startup Fest in Amsterdam and he admitted to using a Galaxy S7 as well as an Apple iPhone 6S. He declared that overall, the S7 is better than the 6S and there are several reasons behind it.

Schmidt said on-stage that S7 has a more capable battery and Apple users know it very well. When the crowd was asked to raise hands if they used an iPhone, majority in the room responded positively. Schmidt joked, mocking the Android monopoly in Europe.

Until late 2014, he made use of Blackberry and Moto X. Keep in mind that earlier this year, Samsung Galaxy S7 was reviewed by Express.co.uk and it was touted to be the best Android smartphone that can be purchased right now. During the annual I/O conference, Google showcased the Trust API to developers.

Reports indicate that it replaces a single user password with a multitude of additional security indicators. The technology will first release to the banks and then to developers, by the end of this year. A lot of new innovations were declared and this includes the use of a chat app, which could end up rivaling WhatsApp.

Meanwhile, in the latest marketing push by Samsung, the company has built a huge replica of the Galaxy S7 and it will hang outside the Sheremetyevo International Airport. From top to bottom, this billboard stands 80 meters tall.

It is also 40 meters wide, which enables it to be seen from as far as 2 kilometers away. Samsung expects that around 800,000 people will witness this structure every day, in Sokol, Moscow. It has been placed in a prime location which intersects two important motorways. You can check out a video of the billboard out here.
