The 2015 flagship devices of Sony, the Xperia Z5, and the Z5 Compact can now be purchased in the US through Amazon. However, you should note that e-retailers are already selling them in the US without any warranty and in the form of international variants.
Sony has just released the unlocked Xperia Z5 and the Xperia Z5 Compact through Amazon and it comes with manufacturer warranty as well. These devices do not have a fingerprint sensor on their home button, as reported by Phone Arena.
Furthermore, these handsets are compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile. When it comes to price, Amazon is selling this device for a price of $599.99.
In case of the Xperia Z5 Compact, the price of the device is lesser at $499.99. Once you place the order, Amazon’s free shipping service can be availed. At the moment, only the black variant of the devices are available. The Xperia Z5 features a full HD 5.2inches display with 1080p resolution.
There is a Snapdragon 810 chipset under the hood along with an octa-core processor, clocked at 2.0 GHz, powering the device. The device further comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage. With the help of a memory card, you can expand the memory up to 200GB.
The other key elements in the device include a 23-megapixel camera, 2900mAh battery unit, and 5.1-megapixel front facing camera along with IP68 waterproof certification. Meanwhile, the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact shares most of it features with the Xperia Z5. At the same time, it comes with a pocket-friendly 4.6inch display with720x1280 pixel resolution.
The other major differences include a 2GB RAM and 2700mAh battery. Meanwhile, both these devices will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS and will be further upgradeable to Marshmallow 6.0 OS, which adds a fair amount of future proofing.
Both Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact devices were internationally released in the month of January but it was only available in various European markets back then. However, Sony promised earlier and has brought the device into US, with both devices priced at $599 and $499 respectively.
Anyone can purchase them unlocked through Best Buy, Amazon and B&H. Meanwhile, a post from PlayStation blog indicates that the new smartphones come with the fastest autofocus camera in the world. They further have high-resolution audio along with a splash proof and water resistant design.
The display on the Xperia Z5 is decent at 5.2inches and 1080p display resolution. Both of these devices are equally powerful and last two days on a single charge. Both of the Xperia devices come in various color options.
The Xperia Z5 is available in white, green, and gold and black while the compact is available in yellow, coral, and white and black. There are various perks you can get while buying either of these devices.
PC Mag reported that each device will let buyers download three movies without any cost and they include Sony’s “Hotel Transylvania 2 and “The Walk”.
