Samsung Galaxy S7 vs Apple iPhone 7: Will Samsung Return to Qualcomm? We’ll See

In the processor front, Samsung decide to use their own in-house designs in the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge after there were overheating issues with the earlier Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processors.

Both these devices are powered by Samsung’s own Exynos processor chipsets. However, a recent report issued by Korea’s ET News through G4 Games has revealed that Samsung Galaxy S7 to be launched in 2016 will return to the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor series.

The report further claimed that Samsung will introduce two S7 variants, one powered by Qualcomm and the other powered by an Exynos chipset. People are surprised as to why Samsung has decided to return to Qualcomm since their Exynos is more than enough to handle everyday tasks and much more.

Rumors indicate that it could be an optimization or a cost issue.  Right now, the company is testing either of the models so in the end, the company could end up releasing just one.

Apple uses their own ‘A series’ chipsets so it shouldn’t be too surprising if Samsung decides to do the same. Right now, it seems like the Galaxy S7 launch is quite far considering the fact that S6 and S6 Edge was released just a few months ago.

Recently, Samsung launched these devices and people are already expecting their successors to be announced soon. Meanwhile, Samsung’s arch-nemesis Apple, is preparing to a launch iPhone upgrades in the later part of this year, which marks the beginning of a new battle between these companies.

However, keep in mind that neither Apple iPhone 7 nor Samsung Galaxy S7 has been confirmed by their respectable companies. Both of them are presently in the rumored stages and awaiting further confirmation.

Both of these companies work their hardest to ensure an everlasting position in the hearts of smartphone users. Let us take a look at the possible specs and features of the rumored iPhone 7 and the Galaxy S7.

Currently, some reports indicate that the Galaxy S7 will come with a 4K display but there are no details about its screen size. However, it is expected that Samsung will continue with their dual-edge screen design, considering its huge market success.

Meanwhile, on the iPhone front, we saw iPhone 6 and 6 Plus being released last year and both of them are equally magnificent. Each of these devices marks a huge leap in Apple design and hardware.

Reports indicate that Apple will launch two new devices this year, coming with the same 4.7 and 5.5inch displays. Rumors suggest that Apple will integrate their latest Force Touch Technology in these devices. For those who aren’t aware, Force Torch will be able to differentiate between varying touch pressures and perform different operations at the same time.

Earlier, we talked about Samsung making a return to Qualcomm shores but if the company decides to stay vigilant and competitive, they’ll keep using the Exynos architecture. Their 14nm process chipsets are currently the best in the industry and offers cutting-edge performance.

Samsung will definitely upgrade the processor in Galaxy S7 with reports suggesting a 64-bit Exynos 3.5GHz with 32GB internal storage capacity and 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. People who want more storage on their devices can choose the 64GB/128GB variants as well. Meanwhile, Apple keeps increasing the number on their A-series processors.

If the trends continue, Apple iPhone 7 will have an A9 processor compared to the A8 chipsets in iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Rumors suggest that Apple will upgrade the RAM (FINALLY!) from 1GB to 2GB and 16GB/64GB/128GB variants will be offered.

Meanwhile, both these devices will introduce a massive upgrade to their camera sensors. Unrealistic rumors suggest that the Galaxy S7 will come with a 30MP Rear snapper and a 10MP front shooter.

We are expecting to see nothing less than 16MP rear and 5MP front cameras with added functionalities and features. Meanwhile, reports indicate that iPhone 7 will feature a 12MP rear iSight camera with a dual-lens setup, capable of delivering DSLR quality images.
