Samsung Galaxy S6 Receives Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Currently Available at A Discount of $150 At Walmart, S7 Series Selling Better Than the S6 Series!

The Samsung Galaxy S6 was announced and rolled out back in 2015. It was one of the devices of the flagship ‘S6’ lineup of Samsung for that year. Despite packing some impressive specs, the device failed to find as many takers as Samsung had intended for it.

One of the main reasons for this could be accounted to the fact that the South Korean tech giant went the “Apple way” and decided to ditch the external microSD card from the device. This caused a lot of dissatisfaction among loyal Samsung smartphone customers.

Samsung devices are normally built with microSD card slots and the company went out of the normal way when it decided to exclude it from the device. The negative response from fans and users forced the company to bring back the microSD card slot back with the S7 series.

As for the other technical aspects of the device, it sports a 5.1-inches screen which has a Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. The pixel density on the device is 577 pixels per inch.

The screen comes protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 which protects it from shocks and other forms of damages. Alongside the scree, the back panel of the device is protected with the same version of Gorilla Glass which makes it quite sturdy and durable.

Under its hood the Galaxy S6 packs an Exynos 7420 Octa core processor which is homegrown in Samsung itself. Along with the processor is packed 3GB of RAM which ensures smooth functioning of the device. A Mali-T760MP8 GPU is also loaded into the device which ensures the best output while playing games or watching videos on the device.

The measurements with which the device came with stands at- 143.4 x 70.5 x 6.8 mm. The overall weight of the device is 138 grams.

As for the memory department, three variants of the S6 is available each of which packs a different amount of internal memory. The entry level model is loaded with 32GB of internal memory while the next best one comes with 64GB of it. The priciest model of the Samsung Galaxy S6 comes with 128GB of inbuilt memory.

The primary camera on the device stands at 16-megapixels and it is accompanied with a 5-megapixel front snapper. Both the cameras have a f/1.9 aperture. the rear camera comes loaded with several features that include- Optical Image Stabilization, autofocus, LED flash, touch-focus, geo-tagging Auto HDR and panorama.

The device also has an inbuilt fingerprint scanner on its home button for added security. That apart it comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4, GPS and also NFC. An Infrared port and a micorUSB 2.0 port are also found on the smartphone.

It is powered with a 2500 Li-Ion battery which is non-removable in nature. The device came with Android 5.0.2 out of the box, however, reports are coming in that suggest that the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow is being rolled out for it in various parts of the world.

A renowned website reports that the Android M update for the device is currently being rolled out for the S6 in South Korea.

It was also reported that the update will soon be released in other parts of the world which include- UK, India, Netherlands, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nigeria, Italy, Czech Republic, Spain, Macedonia, Austria, Iraq, Russia, Germany and Croatia.

In USA, the update was brought forth by the various carriers of the device that include- Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile. Reports suggest that Sprint was the the first carrier to come forward with the update. Verizon and T-Mobile followed suit.
