Samsung Galaxy J7: Ranked Number One on the List of the Most Popular Smartphones of 2015, More Details

Samsung is currently focusing on the mid-range smartphone market due to the immense competition from rival brands, and the latest smartphone to hit the market is the Galaxy J7. The Korean tech giant made it clear that despite the market dominance of relatively newer brands such as Xiaomi, OnePlus, Gionee, etc., they are in no mood to back off and the J7 is their perfect response.

When Samsung launched the Galaxy J7 back in June 2015, critics compared the smartphone to the Galaxy A7 due to the nomenclature. In reality, the Samsung Galaxy J7 is the ugly relative of the Galaxy A7. However, once that wears off, the J7 proves to be a worthy competitor, despite the price point.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 boasts of dual SIM functionalities unlike Samsung’s ‘A’ series, which is strictly a single SIM GSM. Both the slots of the Galaxy J7 support LTE functionality, facilitating high-speed internet access any day all day.

While one variant of the Samsung Galaxy J7 is powered by a Quad-Core 1.6 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, the second variant features a Octa-Core 1.5 GHz Exynos7580 processor under the hood. Both these smartphones feature 16 GB of built-in storage along with 1.5 GB of RAM. Both smartphones feature external MicroSD card slots supporting up to 128 GB.

Both the Galaxy J7 and the J5 feature dual variants. While one supports LTE, the other does not. This is a major turn down, considering their price differences. It took the users some time to realize that the LTE supported version of the J7 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor while the non-LTE version features the Exynos 7580 chipset.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 sat at the top of the list of the Top 10 popular smartphones of 2015 for seven weeks till the third week of November. This goes on to prove the popularity and attention this smartphone commands.

Even though the smartphone is expected to slide down from the top spot this month, thanks to the numerous other smartphones that are up for launch in the next few weeks, experts believe that the Samsung Galaxy J7 will not below the third spot for some time.

Sitting right below the Galaxy J7 is the Galaxy J5, which is just as powerful as its elder sibling, but goes easier on the pocket. Sitting at the third spot currently is the Sony Xperia Z5, with the Samsung Galaxy J2 and the OnePlus One and Two capturing the next rankings respectively.

If you are wondering where the most popular flagships of the year stand in the list of the top 10 most popular handsets of 2015, the Samsung Galaxy S6is at the eighth spot, with the Apple iPhone 6S sitting in number ten.

Even though the Samsung Galaxy J7 cannot be described as ‘cheap’ from the point of its asking price, the smartphone has a lot to offer nonetheless!Featuring a 5.5-inch AMOLED display, which is perfectly designed for viewing documents, gaming, watching movies, etc. all day long. The fact that this smartphone features double the memory of the Galaxy J5, is quite reassuring too.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 features a removable battery and external SD Card slot, in a period where most major manufacturers are opting for built-in batteries and memory. The Galaxy J7 does not feature an elegant metallic design, setting it apart from the other products that are available in its class.
