Robert Downey Jr. Confirms There Is No Iron Man 4, Marvel Doesn’t Need Standalone Films!

Fans have been dying to know if the next instalment of Iron Man is on its way. The Iron Man franchise is one of the most popular in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and ever since the last Iron Man movie the fans have been wanting to know when the fourth instalment is going to be released. Initially there were reports that Robert Downey Jr. isn’t going to be a part of the film and this had disappointed the fans since it his him that makes the film such a successful one.

Parent Herald has now reported that Marvel isn’t going to release the fourth instalment of Iron man. There have been no official word from Marvel, but Robert Downey Jr. has come to reveal that Iron Man 4 is not a film that Marvel is planning for.

While fans might not see Robert Downey Jr. in a standalone Iron Man movie, they are going to see him in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War. Robert Downey Jr. while talking to USA Today for the promotion of Captain America: Civil War, broke the unhappy news. He reported that Iron Man 4 is not in the cards for Marvels.

In fact Robert Downey Jr. had been very clear since the last Iron Man movie that fans might not be able to see Iron Man 4 since Marvel doesn’t have any plans for it. He was contract bound for only three standalone Iron Man movie and then for the appearances as Iron Man aka Tony Stark in film with the Avengers.

However, fans being fans were hopeful that the Iron Man 4 movie might be conceptualized by Marvel since they know that there is a market for it. In the middle there were rumors that Iron Man 4 is going to bring in a new Iron Man and Robert Downey Jr. is going to hang his boots and become a mentor for the next in line.

As Vine Report stated, rumors had it that Iron Man 4 is on the cards and actor Ty Simpkins is supposedly to become the next Iron Man. Ty Simpkins played the role of the little boy who befriends Tony Stark in Iron Man 3 and it was speculated that Tony Stark will pass on his legacy to him.

There are some speculations as to why Iron Man 4 isn’t a possibility. Iron Man might be very popular online with the viewers, but he doesn’t enjoy a very promising position in the Avengers. Marvels is heavily focused on t eh Avenger films and isn’t focusing on the standalone superhero movies in their third phase apart from the Spider-Man.

Apart from that, fans have to be aware of the fact that Robert Downey Jr. is a very expensive actor to keep in the loop.

The rumor has it that the actor increases his pay for every cinematic appearance that he makes and the amount that Marvel pays him is unimaginable. There are chances that Marvel will not be able to afford him if they offer the role of Tony Stark to him for Iron Man 4.

According to Master Herald, Robert Downey Jr. was willing to don to iron suit once again for the role of Iron Man. He had simply agreed to the fact at The Ellen DeGeneres Show back in 2014, but it looks like Marvel doesn’t need the fourth film to establish its Iron Man franchise and they aren’t willing to pay him anymore than they already are.
