Release Date of Watch Dogs 2 Leaked Online, Features a Different Protagonist!

Watch Dogs 2 is an upcoming third-person shooting action-adventure open world video game developed by Ubisoft. Its predecessor- Watch Dogs, was released by Ubisoft back in 2014.

As for Watch Dogs 2, the latest reports state that the game will hit the market on November 15, 2016. Apparently, a leaked banner is the source of this release date. The banner appeared on IGN.com.

The team at PureXbox.com screen grabbed the banner before it was removed from the site. The banner reveals more than just the release date for the game. It provides a glimpse of the lead character of the game too.

That apart, it has also been revealed by the banner that the game will be based in San Francisco. The Golden Gate bridge was seen in the background of the banner, and this is what gave confirmation to the fact that the game is set in San Francisco.

Apparently, the lead motion-capture actor of the game had previously leaked a character art from the game on his Instagram account.

It has been reported that the character art that can be seen in the recently leaked banner shares a very close resemblance to the one that was leaked earlier by the motion-capture actor.

Actor Cort King had previously uploaded a picture of the lead character of the game on his Instagram account, which had the caption- “Had a blast doing motion capture work as the lead character in a new video game series.”

He hashtagged the caption with the words ‘Watch Dogs 2’, which all but gave confirmation that he will be playing the lead character in the title. It also clarified that fans will not be seeing Aiden Pearce at the helm of the game.

Apart from the lead character, two more characters can be seen in the banner. One of them is a DedSec character that is wearing a skull mask. The another one appears to be a girl. However, it is still not clear whether these two characters will have a significant role to play in the game.

Lionel Reynaud, the Vice President of the Creative Wing at Ubisoft, had previously admitted that the first game came with certain flaws.

That being said, he also added that the developers are working tirelessly to remove these flaws from the upcoming game. He stated that some parts of the game will undergo certain changes because of the ways in which the flaws from the game are to be removed.

According to him, a “brand and a promise” was established by the first game. He added that modern technology will be required by the developers to refine the game and make it better than the previous one. More than 9 million copies of Watch Dogs have been sold on a global basis till date.

In this context, it should be mentioned that the immensely popular franchise- Assassin’s Creed, failed to impress gamers with its first game. However, the franchise has gone on to become one of the most popular ones in recent times.

Fans of Watch Dogs are thus keeping their fingers crossed and hoping that the developers would do something radical with the upcoming game which would establish the franchise as a much-loved one.

In other news, a 30-second teaser for the game has already been released by Ubisoft, and more are on their way.

In the trailer, fans see a person fiddling around with his phone, most likely trying to hack into some kind of a system. The man in question is not Aiden Pearce and this has sparked speculations about the game having a different protagonist.
