Premiere Date and Exciting 20-Episode Order Confirmed For Vikings Season 4!

This isn’t new information that Vikings has totally been killing it! It has already conquered television and there are two months to go until Vikings Season 4 premiers. Moreover, four new original episodes were added to its original order of sixteen by History Channel. Starting on 18th February, new episodes will air every Thursday for ten straight weeks.

Moreover, the remaining episodes will start airing later in the year. Many kinds of series are splitting their story arcs in this manner and from the looks of it, Vikings is following this trend as well.

This permits a mid-season finale and will result in fewer re-runs during the airing process. The show has been quite successful and Travis Fimmel is all set to appear in the upcoming Warcraft movie.

Furthermore, Peter Franzén as King Harold Finehair, Jasper Pääkkönen as Halfdan the Black, and Dianne Doan as Yidu will all be present in season 4. Vikings focuses on the ongoing family saga involving the epic adventures and remarkable lives of Vikings during the Dark Ages.

The season 4 of Vikings will premiere on History Channel, beginning on 18th February, 10pm ET. With the news of extra episodes, fans of this series are no doubt pretty excited and simply being as patient as possible.

It is clear that The History Channel has struck Gold with Vikings and this historical drama is well on its way to Season 4, which will be its longest season yet. As already mentioned, the exact premiere date of Vikings Season 4 was also revealed.

The good news doesn’t end here and it is clear that the new season will have twice the number of episodes in Season 4. In the first season of Vikings, we saw 9 episodes and the second season and third came with 10 episodes each. TVLine reported that the upcoming 4th season will have 20 episodes.

According to the latest reports, a new episode will be aired for 20 straight weeks. The history drama will split into half; similar to many TV shows that premiere during the fall.

However, four more hours have been added to the total season tally and viewers are amazingly excited about it. Although critics may report that Vikings is not completely historically accurate, viewers are least bothered about it. It is still a major hit among fans even though The American Spectator criticized it in 2013 for getting the Viking Age Government inaccurately.

During the junior season, there was a slight dip in ratings. However, according to CinemaBlend, at least two million viewers were recorded weekly and the ratings were quite high. Meanwhile, fans have a lot to look forward in the fourth season.

There are several new characters that have been brought in, in order to make it much more interesting for the legendary future King of Denmark. Diane Doan has been introduced as Yidu and she will provide a fresh new romantic interest for Ragnar Lothbrok, played by Travis Fimmel.  PeterFranzén will possibly be introduced as a new rival, who will play the role of King Harold Finehair. Jasper Pääkkönen’s Halfdan the Black is the last new character.

It has been promised by the new Vikings Season 4 trailer that war will never end but at the same time, it has provided us with glimpses of the upcoming season. Clues have been revealed regarding the possibility of Bjorn taking his father’s place once Ragnar has passed away.
