PlayStation 5 Possibly the Last of the Sony Consoles, Rumors Indicate a Release within the Next 5 Years, And More

It has been rumored that Xbox Two will totally discard the usage of discs and PS5 will do the same. Right now, people are wondering whether this console will support 4K resolution and virtual reality.

The processing power of the PlayStation 4 is still not sufficient enough to run games in 4K resolution. This will definitely become a major part of the gaming landscape in the years to come. Therefore, PlayStation 5 will definitely deliver games in 4K resolution and that should be a major treat.

At the same time, people are talking a lot about the virtual reality systems and one of them is Sony’s PlayStation VR (earlier known as Project Morpheus). The present generation PlayStation hardware is bound to struggle with such technologies even though the first PlayStation VR was built to be compatible with it.

The demand of such systems will develop with the development of virtual reality. It is possible that Virtual Reality will be integrated in PlayStation 5 or Sony will at least emphasize it with the release of the space-age console.

Meanwhile, video game streaming services have developed massively like Twitch, which is highly flourishing. By the time PlayStation 5 is released, Broadband speeds will improve further and you can expect a service like that to be included in the console.

Stay tuned for more updates on PlayStation 5!

  1. “VR” is horrible. Want to try “VR”? Get a Google Cardboard kit for $5 off eBay and then download a “VR” app.

The experience is lousy. The 3D effect is lousy. The controls/interaction are abysmal. You will get motion sickness.

Congrats. That’s VR. That’s where VR has been for decades and where it will continue to be because of technical limitations and the sophisticated nature of our eyes, ears, sense of touch and nervous system.

Console gaming isn’t going anywhere for the next 10 years or so.

  7. I’ve heard something about 2019, which is a reliable date, considering that the PS4 was introduced in 2013. As for the end of the PS line, no way, it’s too profitable for Sony to discontinue it.
