Disney is coming back with the fifth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean and like always Johnny Depp is going to be back as Captain Jack Sparrow. There are reports that Pirates of the Caribbean 5, which will officially be called Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, is going to hit the screens on 2017.
Movie Pilot has reported that the filming for Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is complete in New Zealand. It has been a long wait for the fans of the franchise ever since Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
Since Pirates of the Caribbean 4 was not a runaway success like the other films before that, Disney is going to make some changes to make sure that the fifth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean is as popular as The Curse of the Black Pearl.
Pirates of the Caribbean 5 will see Orlando Bloom returning to reprise his role of Will Turner. He had stayed away from the previous film,but will be back for the upcoming one. There are reports that there is going to be a slight change in his character since Keira Knightly’s Elizabeth Swann will not be a part of Pirates of the Caribbean 5.
With Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann’s romance missing from the film, Will Turner will leave the romance department to Brenton Thwaites and Kaya Scodelario, who will play the role of Henry and Carina Smyth respectively.
Pirates of the Caribbean 5 will have Javier Bardem as Captain Salazar. The plot details reveals that the fifth film will show Captain Salazar seeking revenge from Captain Jack Sparrow, thinking that he was responsible for killing his brother. Salazar will be introduced back into the franchise and so will Devil’s Triangle.
Captain Salazar was very popular in the 18th century. Having lived in Devil’s Tongue, he leads a number of ghost pirates. He managed to escape from the Devil’s Tongue and is now out to kill every pirate in the high seas, especially Captain Jack Sparrow.
While Javier Bardem is going to be a new addition to the star cast, his wife Penelope Cruz, who was a part of Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides, will be absent from the upcoming film.
Apart from Javier Bardem, British actress Kaya Scodelario will also be an addition in the upcoming film. She is set to play the role of Carina Smyth,a woman who is way ahead of her time and has gotten a chance to study in the university.
Kaya Scodelario, has not only got the opportunity to be educated in a university, she is also in search of the Trident of the God that belongs to Poseidon, the God of the sea. She encounters Captain Jack Sparrow in this search since he is also looking for the same trident. However, from what it looks like Carina Smyth has a better opportunity at finding the trident since she has notes on where the exact location might be.
There are speculations that Jack Sparrow is in search for the Trident of Poseidon since it is believed to be a weapon that can keep the ghosts from the Devil’s Triangle at bay. Jack Sparrow is going to make use of Carina Smyth’s knowledge to his advantage and fight Salazar.
