The 33-year-old rapper, singer, and songwriter Nicki Minaj makes headlines – not with her music, but by moving into a rented mansion in Beverly Hills with her beau, rapper Meek Mill.
But the relocation from the east coast to the west coast is not what is creating ripples. Instead, the news of how much is spent to pay the rent for the love nest is what is drawing attention. According to TMZ, the pocket pinch is an exorbitant sum of $30,000 per month and for that reason, the house is sheer luxury.
The Beverly Hills eye-watering property has an area of 11,500 square feet and offers nine bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and a five-car garage. The mansion is located up on a hill and includes a modern kitchen, fully furnished with stainless steel appliances, a spacious master suite, an iron gate at the entrance, a barbeque, an outdoor swimming pool and lawn.
There is an outdoor entertaining area to amuse the couple’s friends and guests. A lush cover of greenery surround the dining room, and the lawn boasts a picturesque scene of the valley below.
The property houses Meek Mill’s motor collection and a picture of Meek Mill posing with one of his ATV on the driveway is seen on the rapper’s Instagram. Nicki Minaj’s name is on the lease of the house as Meek Mill had an unfortunate brush with the law.
According to one of her interviews with the Essence magazine, despite the fact that Meek Mill has gifted her a diamond ring, they are not yet engaged as Mill would like to give her three diamond rings before they tie the knot. Nicki Minaj got the first diamond ring from Meek Mill on her last birthday and is expecting another this year on her birthday.
Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj may not be engaged, but marriage may be on the cards according to one of Nicki Minaj’s tweets on Thursday. The purchase of their home in L.A. is put on hold as Meek Mill pleaded guilty for parole violation and was sentenced to 90 days house arrest in February 2016.
Meek Mill was out on parole after being convicted of possessing drugs and firearms in 2009. In December 2015 Meek Mill was found guilty of violating the conditions of probation. Nicki Minaj had testified for him in court but it went south, and Meek Mill ended up under house arrest. However, Nicki Minaj stood by him through thick and thin and believes Meek Mill to have changed for good.
Nicki Minaj in an earlier interview had revealed her desire to have children with the Philly Boy, but only after getting married to him. She has stated that the 29-year-old rapper has told her that he likes her bossiness and that it reminds him of his mother. He has also said that she is “like a dude”.
Nicki Minaj is under the impression that being tough and bossy turns Meek Mill on, and she says that it is important for her to have her voice in a relationship. Of course this does not mean to lose one’s voice, but be with a “secure enough man’’ who can let her still be a queen.
Nicki Minaj and her ex-boyfriend, 35-year-old rapper Safaree Samuel have had their fair share of public rows after their break-up, but a major one ensued when the Burner creator filed a lawsuit against the Pinkprint singer for emotional and physical abuse.
He also claimed that he ghostwrote some songs for the Anaconda singer, which she never credited him for. When the rapper was asked whether he would be able to be friends with Nicki Minaj again, Safaree Samuel put the condition, only if Nicky Minaj “puts her pride to the side”. He also tweeted saying the same: that he could dismiss all the ill-feelings for his ex. He wants to befriend Nicki Minaj’s present boyfriend Meek Mill, with whom he has had a back-and-forth relationship.
