New Features of the Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5 and Xiaomi Mi 5 Released at MWC 2016!

If you were really that hyped about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7, here’s was way in which you could have completely enjoyed the launch event right from your smartphone. It launched at 7pm CET in Barcelona at the Unpacking Event.

The event began at 11:30pm IST and Samsung introduced a special app through which you could have watched the event in a 360 degree view VR style. The Unpacked 2016 website of Samsung noted that users who are interested can easily view the 360 live-streaming of the event from their smartphone, irrespective of whether it belongs to the Android or the IOS platform.

There were four options from where the viewers had watched the event live: The stage left, the stage right, the auditorium or the center stage. The requirements were an Android phone which is v4.4.4 KitKat or higher or an IOS device which is IOS 6.0 or higher, all you had to do was download the Unpacked 360 View app from Google’s Play Store or Apple’s App Store.

One you have installed the application, you can select four different viewing angles. The users who are really interested watched the event unfold from their PC itself by going to the Samsung website. In the meantime, if you own a Gear VR headset, you can head over to the Oculus Store and then search for the unpacked app.

Once this app is installed, you can watch the event through the app on the headset. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge were launched and they will be up for pre-orders soon. The upcoming Galaxy S7 has a 1440 x 2560 pixels (~577 ppi pixel density) display, and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass protection along with an Always-On display.

The Galaxy S7 featurestwo different kinds of chipsets based on the location, the Exynos Chipset or the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC. It sports microSD slots along with a Non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery. The two different variants in details are Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 and the Exynos 8890 Octa core processor.

They feature Dual-core 2.15 GHz Kryo & dual-core 1.6 GHz Kryo and Quad-core 2.3 GHz Cortex-A53 + quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A53 respectively. Meanwhile, the GPUs are Adreno 530 and Mali-T880 MP12. The first variant has a microSD slot, up to 200 GB (dedicated slot) – single SIM model and the other variant sports a microSD, up to 200 GB (uses SIM 2 slot) – dual SIM model.

The S7 has a 12MP camera with f/1.7, 26mm, phase detection autofocus, OIS and LED flash. Other features are 1/2.6″ sensor size, 1.4 µm pixel size, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, Auto HDR and panorama. In terms of video recording, the camera can record 2160p@30fps, 1080p@60fps, 720p@240fps, and HDR and dual-video rec.

The secondary camera features a 5 MP shooter with features like f/1.7, 22mm, dual video call, Auto HDR. The Galaxy S7 is equipped with a variety of sensors: Fingerprint, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, heart rate and SpO2.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S7 but along with it, LG launched their G5 and a new picture of the upcoming LG G5 was already posted a while back via @Evleaks’ Twitter Handle. LG G5 decided to ditch the leather back cover as seen on the LG G4 and the device now sports a dual camera setup which the company launched in its X series of smartphones.It also has an 8 megapixelsecondary camera.
