Mortal Kombat X’s Kombat Pack 2 DLC Sektor and Alien Characters Teased by Ed Boon, More Details

Ed Boon, the creator of the Mortal Kombat franchise recently teased Sektor and the Alien character DLC for the yet unreleased Kombat Pack 2 for Mortal Kombat X.  This news offers some contradiction to the critical story mode details but at the same time, it is quite exciting.

Over the past several hours, the creative director has tweeted several pictures which hint at the inclusion of these two characters in a forthcoming season pass. There are three images which were released as a parody to Universal Pictures’ film “Straight Outta Compton”.

In case of the posted images, they had graphics featuring Sektor and Alien along with blocked lettering that reads “Straight Outta KP2”. The name KP2 most likely pertains to a second Kombat Pack filled with various skins and characters.

There was another Alien picture poking fun at the original 1979 movie was posted and added to the set. Matching with the theme, we notice an alien protruding from the actor’s chest which says “Straight Outta John Hurt”.

Although these are just mock posters, they are potentially quite interesting as this is the first time that the Boon has actually purposely tweeted the possibility of an upcoming DLC with the help of a tweet. Furthermore, he decides to keep his fans interested by sharing articles and various speculation videos on the subject.

However, when you are referring to Ed Boon and his tweets, it is quite impossible to distinguish between genuine tweets and simple jokes. With the entry of Sektor, this issue becomes further complicated. The events which took place in the story mode of Mortal Kombat X actually limit the involvement of this character in any upcoming DLC.

All the evidences that emerged are rather unconfirmed but considering them clearly points out that he no longer exists. If Kombat Pack 2 does feature Sektor, the cameo will need to be non-canon. However, Mortal Kombat has played quite fast and loose with its narrative.

This is how guest fighters like Jason Voorhees and Predator wound up in the present installment. Alien DLC possibilities have been teased before but Sektor is presently a curious choice. NetherRealm Studios needs to make an official announcement regarding Kombat Pack 2 in order to distinguish between the teases and the rumors.

Mortal Kombat X is available on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and mobile devices.  According to reports from Christian Post, there will be a release update for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. Fans of the gaming world are quite excited about this release but confirmed details about the DLC update is yet to be seen.

All the excitement started off with a tweet from Ed Boon. It was a black-and-white of some of the Mortal Kombat X characters like Tanya, Jason Voorhees, Predator and Tremor. Ed Boon has been hinting about these DLCs for a long time and they don’t appear to be absurd at all. Further rumored character add-ons include Bo’ Rai Cho, Fujin, Kabal and the highly mesmerizing Spawn.

As for the entry of Spawn, there is proof of his incidents suggesting his possible inclusion. This is because NetherRealm Studios acquired permission from Tom McFarlane of Image Comics to get Spawn included in the Mortal Kombat DLC. As a result, gamers who were waiting for the DLC for a long, long time can finally expect it to launch soon.

In the meantime, the fans can watch some videos that were uploaded on YouTube by user Dynasty. The video reveals the unmasked face of some of the characters, including both playable and unplayable ones. The list of playable characters included with unmasked faces is Ferra Torr, Erron Black, Jason Voorhees and Revenant Sub-Zero.
