Michael Bay Back to Direct Transformers 5, Paramount Plans Spin-Off with Bumblebee, to Be Filmed in Detroit!

Paramount Pictures is going all out to make sure that the upcoming instalment is better and bigger than Transformers 4: The Age of Extinction. The studio doesn’t have quite a lot of films under their banner and they need to focus on the biggest project that they have their hands on. In order to make the film a major success, they have hired Akiva Goldsman to work on the script.

Akiva Goldsman isn’t going to write the script for Transformers 5, but is going to head the writer’s room that is going to comprise of writers like Ken Nolan, Matt Holloway, Art Marcum and Jeff Pinkner to name a few.

Robert Kirkman, who is popular as the writer of the series The Walking Dead had reported that he will not be able to be a part of the upcoming film since he had head to surgery on the very first day of the work. He said that he had attending the briefing session, but t=had to go for a throat surgery on the very next day and hence left the assignment.

However, Robert Kirkman had piqued the interest of the fans by stating that even though he isn’t going to be a part of the project, he had been there for the first day and from the idea that he got, Transformers 5 is going to have a fantastic story board

Akiva Goldsman had remarked that Transformers 5 will most probably feature the battle between Unicron and Optimus Prime that is one of the most popular sequence in the history of the franchise. The fans have always been looking at the prospect of having the fight depicted on screen and Akiva Goldsman has given them a spark of hope.

The Unicron is a very powerful villain who considers himself to be the dictator of the universe. He sucks out planets and stars and that is how he increases his power. The Unicron usually heads to different planets and eliminates them until they agree to consider him to be their supreme leader.

The Unicron employs the Quintessons to do his work and with Optimus Prime heading to outer space to deal with the creators of the Autobots there are high chances that he will have an encounter with Unicron. Optimus Prime is going to head to space to try and stop the Quintessons from attacking earth and killing off the human race. It looks like the mastermind behind this is Unicron since he hasn’t been able to bring the planet under his control.

The upcoming film is going to have two plots. The first will deal with Optimus Prime heading to space to solve the crisis with the Quintessons and the second plot will deal with life back on earth. This will see Ultra Magnus dealing with things on earth with Mark Wahlberg’s Cade Yeager for support.

Paramount Pictures knows that Akiva Goldsman and his team of writers will create magic with the pen. In order to bring their vision to reality, they had to bring in an expert for the director’s chair and there is no one better than Michael Bay for the job.

Michael Bay has directed all the Transformers movies and he is going to be back for Transformers 5 as well. Bay had been busy with his schedule for 13 Hours: The Secret Soldier of Benghazi, but he had wrapped the film up and is now free to deal with Transformers 5.
