Maddie Ziegler has been quite a household name thanks to Dance Moms. However, the 13-year-old has started creating quite a ripple with her stunning performances. She recently performed along with Sia at the finale of The Voice and she blew the audience with the collaboration with Sia for Cheap Thrills.
Maddie Ziegler shared the stage with Ariana Grande and Christina Aguilera and she still made quite an impact, which goes a long way in establishing how talented the young girl is.
Billboard reported that the whole performance of Cheap Thrill worked so brilliantly because of Sia taking the now common backseat while her favorite, Maddie Ziegler led the whole dance troupe.
There were some who claimed that Sia’s performance in The Voice was very similar to her performance in The American Idol, but then there was something about the whole charisma that Maddie Ziegler brought into the act.
Maddie Ziegler did make her foray into the world of dancing with Dance Moms, but she has moved on from the show now. She has ventured into Hollywood and recently completed shooting for Colin Trevorrow’s The Book of Henry and is soon to become the youngest judge on Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance.
Maddie Ziegler was the favorite student of Abby Lee Miller, the coach of the Abby Lee Dance Company and the latter hadn’t been very happy with the prospect of Maddie Ziegler leaving the show. Abby Lee Miller had already made it evident that she didn’t approve of her star student giving up on her dance to focus on acting.
Maddie Ziegler had been nominated for the Teen Choice Awards 2016 in the category of Choice Dancer. She had received a nomination for the same last year as well but had lost out on another Dance Moms alum, Chloe Lukasiak. It turns out that Chloe Lukasiak has been nominated for the same award this year as well.
Chloe Lukasiak had shocked a lot of people to go ahead and win the award by beating Maddie Ziegler. The latter might have had a great year, but it was a clear prove that Chloe had a wider fan base. Chloe Lukasiak had taken the opportunity to throw shade at all those who didn’t believe in her and viewers didn’t need a hint to understand and she clearly meant Abby Lee Miller.
Chloe Lukasiak and Abby Lee Miller hadn’t seen eye to eye for a long time. Even though Chloe Lukasiak had started her dance career with ALDC, she left the company since she had had enough of negativity from Abby Lee Miller. Miller would continue to compare Lukasiak with her then top student Maddie Ziegler and would tell that she wasn’t a good enough dancer.
Maddie Ziegler and Chloe Lukasiak had been the best of friends since they forayed into the world of dancing together through ALDC.
The two were very close, but after constantly being pitted against each other by Abby Lee Miller and with Chloe Lukasiak leaving ALDC to go join Studio 19 Dance Complex, the two moved apart. Chloe Lukasiak now considers Maddie Ziegler to be her biggest competition and the two are constantly trying to beat the other.
There are chances that with Maddie Ziegler leaving Dance Moms, the two might be able to rekindle their friendship and even work on a project together in the future. Dance Moms has seen a large number of dancers leave the show. Season 4 saw Chloe Lukasiak and Brooke and Paige Hyland leave.
During that time, Maddie Ziegler wasn’t yet famous, but then she appeared for two phenomenal videos by Sia, Elastic Heart, and Chandelier and became famous.
