Longmire Season 5: Netflix Happy with Viewership, Episodes to be Longer and Darker, Probably the Last Season!

Apart from the happy news of Longmire being renewed by Netflix, there is another news that will be well appreciated by the fans. It has been renewed that Netflix has decided to make the episodes longer. It is believed that each of the 10 episodes in Longmire Season 5 will have an additional airtime of 20 minutes, which will make the episodes an hour long.

Christian Today, reported that Lou Diamond Phillips, said that the decision of exceeding the airtime is much welcomed by the fans and the actors in Longmire Season 5. With each episode now running for an hour, the series will have more airtime to develop the backstory for minor characters.

Lou Diamond plays the role of Don Lucho in Longmire Season 5 and he is happy because it means his character will have more time to develop on screen instead of being edited out.

Tony Tost, the writer for the series had tweeted that he had finished watching Longmire Season 5 and could now sit down to start writing Season 5. He has teased fans saying that the episodes in Longmire Season 5 will be more dramatic and dark.

  1. Why is the value of the mature audience worth less than that of the younger audience? Our dollar is worth the same as theirs. A great show is a great show, no matter what age group it attracts. Longmire is great show,I am glad to learn that it is renewed for another season but talk of this being its last is very disappointing. The only reason I joined Netflix was to watch Longmire. If the ratings are good the show should remain on the air. If Longmire is cancelled because of demographic reasons you can be assured that I will cancel my Netflix account and Im sure alot of others will do the same.

  3. I and my family also LOVE the Longmire series. We were loyal watchers while on
A& E, now our loyalties favor Netflix. I am very happy to hear Netflix appreciates our viewership and that Logmire gets a season 5 and hopefully many seasons thereafter.
    Long live Sheriff Longmire!!!!!!

  5. Longmire is my favorite show. It has that dark underlying storyline that leaves a mystery. It is always good vs evil, pure and simple. Justice is served with Longmire. Longmire goes, Netflix goes. Thank you Walt!!!!!!!!!!!!!
