Jim Parsons Opens Up About Sheldon, Will The Series Be Renewed Beyond Season 10? Let’s See

There’s good news for the fans of The Big Bang Theory. The series that is currently running its ninth season has been renewed for the tenth season by CBS. While this calls for some celebration, there is a lot of speculation that Season 10 of The Big Bang Theory might be the last of the series.

The show has seen a very successful run since the first season and this is going to break many a hearts. Jim Parson, who is known for his role of Dr. Sheldon Cooper has said that the cast and crew of The Big Bang Theory want the show to continue running for as long as it is possible.

He added that the writers of the show have a unique story to share and with each of the characters having a unique story to work on, there is no feeling of drudgery in the cast members in spite of playing the same characters for so long.

Kaley Cuoco has also expressed her keen interest in wanting to return to the show for more season after Season 10. Kunal Nayyar, however, wasn’t very sure that the series will continue beyond Season 10. Nayyar, however, is ready to be back in the series if the show does continue.

According to Design & Trend, Jim Parson said that the writers of The Big Bang Theory are very devoted to the story that they have shared with the world and they are always on top of it to improve things and keep it interesting for the viewers.

The series has taken an interesting turn now. Sheldon Cooper has finally moved on to the next level of his relationship with Amy (Mayim Bialik), while Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) are learning to adjust to a marriage, Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) and Howard (Simon Helberg) are going to have a baby and Raj (Kunal Nayyar) finally going to find the woman of his dreams, after his dilemma with Emily (Laura Spencer) and Claire (Alessandra Torresani).

When the executive producer of The Big Bang Theory was asked about their plans after Season 10, Steve Molaro said that the team isn’t looking beyond the tenth season. They are focused on the upcoming season and are working on making it a grand success. The team is looking to better the record ratings of Season 9, which is seeing an overall rating of 3.9.

Molaro added that the creative team keeps on pushing forward and they learn and adjust as they gone along, with each new season. If the viewers keep enjoying the show the way they do and if there is a story to share, then they will keep on writing and making more seasons. He said that he would be open to more season after season 10.

Variety recently sat Jim Parson down for an interview and the actor shared his thoughts on the character of Sheldon. Parson said that the best thing about Sheldon is the fact that he is devoid sentimentality. Jim Parson, himself, cannot stand sentimentality in real life and he said that he was lucky to play a character who was so like him in real life.

The Big Bang Theory has entered the elite class of television shows that have continued for over 200 episodes and the episode saw the entire gang celebrating Sheldon’s birthday for the very first time. Sheldon is initially a little shocked and locks himself up in the washroom, but then he comes out and joins the party after talking to Penny.
