James Gunn, the man behind Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was on Twitter and answered some of the queries posted by the fans. He confessed that he had never done something like this. The social media Q and A session with the fans turned out to be an exciting one since Gunn even ended up hinting at a possible crossover between Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers.

Gunn never mentioned that the cross-over is happening, but he used the term currently to state that the Guardians are presently in another galaxy, which keeps the possibility of them coming into our galaxy open. This has opened an entirely new possibility that may be the Guardians of the Galaxy will be asked to be a part of Avengers: Infinity War Part 1.

The speculation about a possible crossover between the two have been on the cards for a while now. James Gunn’s comment on Twitter seems to give some clarification on the issue and this has made the fans super excited. Gunn supposedly has spoken at length about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the 2017 sequel of Guardians of the Galaxy, along with Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios.

Gunn is very excited about getting the Guardians of the Galaxy into Earth, but he has made it very clear to Feige that if a crossover happens then he will be leaving chunks of their life separate from the world of Marvel. This is because Gunn says that Guardian has a whole universe that can be explored in standalone movies.

Inquisitr reported that Gunn had once spoken up about the possible crossover between Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers, but then he had said that things aren’t decided yet. He didn’t want to make any comment on the issue since he feared that he might give away more than what he is meant to.

The fans are sure that there is going to be a possible crossover between Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers since both the films take place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe where there is search for the Infinity Stones. Both The Collector and Thanos has been shown in the post credit scenes of the Avengers and the Thor movies.

The sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy isn’t going to be released before 2017 and fans will have to also wait for some clarification on whether the crossover between Guardians and Avengers is happening for real or not. However, those who are playing the mobile game Avengers Academy, will not have to wait long for the Guardians to become a part of the Avengers’ universe.

TinyCo and Marvel have decided that they will introduce the Guardians of the Galaxy into the Avengers Academy as early as 1st April. The players have very interesting job in the game.

They will have to investigate the misfit team and every week they will be meeting a new member from the team of the Guardians.

The grand finale of the game will involve a face-off with Ronan, who is going to try and retrieve the Power Gem of Thanos. The two teams will have to fight together and will have to stop Ronan from being successful in his venture. The first update of the Avengers Academy will see the Avengers and the Guardians learn, study and harness the skills that will help them defeat the Chitauri enemies.
