Jaguar F-Type SVR: Renders Surface Online, Expected to be Showcased at the Geneva Motor Show in March!

Details regarding the upcoming Jaguar F-Type SVR were recently found online.SVR is Land Rover’s answer to BMW’s M-division and Mercedes-Benz’s AMG, which are the Special Divisions respectively.

As a result, the SVR badge on the F-Type sounds interesting so far. According to a leaked brochure, the Jaguar F-Type SVR is powered by a 5.0-liter supercharged engine block, which is hooked on to an eight-speed automatic transmission system while the power is sent to all four wheels.

Although, some people are of the opinion that a rear-wheel drive vehicle manages power better than an all-wheel drive vehicle, he engineers at Jaguar beg to differ. The engineers have also managed to extract an additional 24BHPand 20Nm from the same engine layout as the Jaguar F-Type, putting the power figures at 566BHP and 700Nm respectively.

Jaguar claims that the boost in power propels the vehicle from 0-60 MPH in around 3.7 seconds, which is 0.4 seconds less than what the standard variant is capable of achieving. The vehicle is also capable of achieving a top speed of 195 MPH for the convertible variant and 200 MPH on the coupe.

The designers have worked on the exterior of the vehicle, focusing primarily on the aerodynamics, which has helped the vehicle gain a minor boost in overall performance. Some of these changes include a bigger diffuser, rear wing and a spoiler.

Additional weight saving measures include aluminum wheels, titanium exhaust and carbon ceramic discs, which saves up to 43KG when combined. The carbon ceramic disc brakes save 18KG on their own while the forged aluminum exhaust reduces another 5KG per wheel.

The wing reduces lift by around 80%, helping the vehicle stick to the ground even at high speeds. The Jaguar F-Type SVR is expected to be showcased at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, although, spy images of the vehicle have surfaced online.

Even though the pricing is currently under wraps, we expect a major increment in the price tag, especially since the SVR variants of Land Rover sport a hefty price tag. Jaguar claims that the recent upgrades have taken driver involvement to a whole new level, which is expected from a 200MPH vehicle.

The F-Type is also the first vehicle from Jaguar to have received the SVR treatment. As a result, all eyes will be on Jaguar Land Rover at the Geneva Motor Show 2016. The R-S badge on the F-Type will be replaced by the SVR badge on the upcoming vehicle, which is also a first.

The first vehicle to sport the SVR badge wasthe Land Rover Sport SVR, and the performance on that one was beyond brutal. SVR was first given the task of working on the F-Type back in 2014, and the performance wing has been busy for the past two years.

Some major improvements were made to the chassis, cooling system and engine. The primary task of the engineering team was to enhance performance while retaining the everyday usability of the vehicle.

The Jaguar F-Type SVR is based on the F-Type R AWD, although, the spy shots depict a major design upgrade on the upcoming vehicle, as compared to the donor model. Judging by the current state of affairs, experts believe that the Jaguar F-Type SVR is likely to sport a price tag around $145,000, although, the final pricing can be stated only after the company provides an official confirmation.
