Various reports are claiming that actor Ty Simpkins might be roped in by the filmmakers to dawn the role of Iron Man and Tony Stark in Iron Man 4. This actor has already made an appearance in the Iron Man franchise with Iron Man 3.
Ty Simpkins played the role of the kid in Iron Man 3 with whom Robert Downey Jr.’s character interacts after his suit gets damaged from a crash. The name of the kid in the movie was Harley Keener and he was seen wielding a potato gun in it.
Robert Downey Jr. is a veteran in the world of Hollywood while Ty Simpkins can still be dubbed as a newcomer as he has appeared in a handful of films till date which include the likes of Jurassic World, All the King’s Men, Little Children and War of the Worlds.
It is difficult to imagine this witty kid from Iron Man 3 in the upcoming movie as Iron Man himself. Downey Jr. had previously stated that Iron Man 3 will be the last movie of the franchise and there won’t be another iteration of Iron Man movie in the series. However, the latest rumors claim that Marvel Cinematic Universe might go ahead and make an Iron Man film without Downey Jr. in it.
In a previous announcement, Marvel studios had stated that they would release three films in 2020 and it is being assumed that one of the three films is going to be Iron Man 4.
A renowned website stated in one of its reports that the studio might reboot the franchise with an Iron Man film that might have a different storyline and different characters. A younger actor is likely to play the role of the protagonist in that film.
