HTC One M10: Codenamed HTC Perfume Gearing Up for a February 2016 Reveal, waiting on Qualcomm to Supply the Snapdragon 820 Chipset!

With 2016 just around the corner, it’s time for the premium smartphone manufacturers to announce their flagship smartphones and one of the most anticipated smartphone of the upcoming year is the HTC One M10.

Even though the HTC One M9 failed to meet the expectations of the customers around the globe, people are waiting for the Taiwanese-tech conglomerate to bounce back up from the hard-hitting punches that were landed on the M9 this year.

Since the early days of the M10, the rumors regarding the smartphone have failed to die down. Everything starting from the name to the features and design was under speculation and so far quite a few things that have been revealed.

For starters, the HTC O2 project has been scraped and replaced by the HTC Perfume project. If that’s not enough, leaked images of a posted, which reportedly looks like the HTC One X9, has been leaked. So much for surprises!

HTC is expected to reveal the One M10 at the Mobile World Congress 2016, if they plan on continuing with their tradition of launching flagship smartphones during February. The tradition started back in 2013, with HTC revealing the then flagship One M7 at MWC. The routine was repeated in 2014 and 2015.

Another rumor states that the HTC One M10 features Android 6.1 Marshmallow out of the box. However, since Google is expected to launch Android 6.1 towards the middle of 2016, we believe HTC will provide Android Marshmallow v6.0.1 and offer upgrades as and when they arrive, instead of waiting for Google to release the next version of Android.

Additional rumors further claim that the HTC One X9 will release even sooner, most likely in January 2016, which is more reason for the loyalists to celebrate.

As far as the design is concerned, people are bored with smartphones looking the same year after year, and would like HTC to break free from the tradition. Even though HTC’s smartphones are distinguishable from the other brands, courtesy their clean design features and color combinations, the general bar layout persists.

Judging by the early renders that have surfaced, the HTC One M10, codenamed HTC Perfume, features a sleeker design and curved edges. The smartphone boasts of curved bezels and has a premium finish, which is hardly surprising considering the brand’s image and the premium pricing that it is expected to command once it hits the shelves.

Experts believe that the HTC One M10 features a 16MP primary camera with Sapphire Lens Cover,Optical Image Stabilization and Laser Autofocus. It further features a 4MP Ultrapixel front camera along with an OLED display,Phase Detection, Type-C USB port andan external MicroSD Card slot.

The renders showcase two very unique color schemes on the smartphone, which are versions of the Deep Garnet and Steel Grey. The smartphone features extra rich bass thanks to the BoomSound speakers featuring mini subwoofers. The reverse end of the smartphone features a fingerprint sensor.

The HTC One M10 feels like a premium version of the One M9 and it should, considering the numerous complaints against the current-generation flagship from the company.

The device is rumored to feature a 5-inch touchscreen with either 2K or 4K display resolution. HTC’s devices usually feature a large camera dock up front, with additional front flash, which is a key additional to selfie-centric smartphones.
