Rockstar Games released GTA 5 for PS3 and Xbox 360 on 17th September 2013, for PS4 and Xbox One on 18th November 2014 and for PC on 14th April 2015.
It has etched its name in the history books as the fastest selling entertainment product of all time with earnings of $800 million on the first day. It is one of the fastest selling video games of all times with over 54 million copies sold till date.
The online version which is essentially the multiplayer mode of the game has also become popular among gamers. The online mode popularly known as GTA Online features the same map as that of GTA 5.
The game features sessions of 16 players for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. The player limit per session has been increased to 30 for the PS4 and Xbox One versions.
Players will be able to wander about and explore the map and will have the freedom to choose from a variety of different types of activities that the game offers to take part in.
The game offers players with different types of tasks and quests like robbing armored trucks, fighting and assaulting local crime gangs and many more. Players can also compete with other players by challenging them to Impromptu Races.
Co-operative missions along with other players can also be undertaken in the game. These missions involve certain tasks handed out to players by bosses of crime organizations and gangs. Most of these crime bosses are part of the GTA 5 game too.
The rank of the player increases as he makes progress in the game and with higher ranks, various new jobs and items are unlocked.
The GTA online game includes a Content Creator feature, a development tool which can be used by players to create various aspects of the game like races and deathmatches.
Certain rumors are doing rounds on the internet regarding GTA 5 Online. It was reported in a renowned website that a new DLC is headed towards fans which will add some lowrider cars to GTA Online.
The Lowriders 2 DLC will come with a total of 7 lowrider vehicles along with a special Christmas pack.
The names featured in the list of vehicles to come with the upgrade are- Minivan2, Virgo2, SabreGT2, Faction 3, Tornado5, SlanVan3, and Virgo3.
This news came as a leak from a GTA tipster. He stated on social media that the upgrade will be available to fans by the month of December. He also posted a list featuring the names of the new vehicles that will come with the upgrade.
The DLC will reportedly come combined as both an update for the Christmas season and also as an update for Halloween, for the game.
Another DLC for the game is set to follow the Lowriders 2 DLC in the form of Festive Surprise 3.0 or the Christmas DLC. This DLC will bring forth some new aspects to the game along with some brand new vehicles, T-Shirts, and masks.
It will add some new features to the game like Christmas trees and Snow to go with the Christmas mood. The update will also enable players to customize their apartments as per their choice.
In the past week, players of GTA Online were given a lot of free stuff, bonuses, and discounts by the developers. Just by logging into the game players got a new hat every day absolutely for free.
Reports from a renowned website stated that players got discounts on a lot of things in the game throughout the past week.
Bobbleheads for dashboards of cars and other vehicles were given away at a whopping seventy-five percent discount. Certain items at the Ammu-Nation were made available to fans at twenty-five percent discounted rates.
Take-two Interactive, the distributors of GTA 5 recently announced that even after two years after the game’s release, the game still has an immense amount of demand among fans. The earnings of the company for the quarter ended September 30 was also announced by Take-Two.
