GoPro Hero 5: People Still Waiting For Awesome Features Like 8K and 3D Recording on the Upcoming Device!

A lot of details regarding GoPro Hero 5 have emerged lately but the main focus is on features like abilities to record 4K videos, featuring an 8K resolution and also the possibility of recording 3D videos. If GoPro Hero 5 does come with these three attributes, the Hero 5 would be placed above all other action-cameras in the market.

It will become the most powerful action-camera video-recording device in the world. Furthermore, the release date of GoPro Hero 5 was pushed back from October 5, 2015 to an unscheduled date in 2016, according to Ecumenical News.

With the help of this extra time, this American camcorder company will use the latest technologies in order to make this device the best in the market. The device is also waterproof and can withstand a depth of 60 meters. This makes it ideal for recording underwater videos. This makes it quite a superb device with such exciting capabilities.

Meanwhile, present rumors indicate that this upcoming device will be priced lower than its predecessor. With a spec-sheet like that included coming at an aggressive price, we are sure that GoPro will have a hard time addressing the growing demands of people all over the world. Usually, it is seen that when a new device launches in the market, it is initially priced higher than its predecessor.

This trend is quite justified as the new device always brings upgrades and features that are usually a step above its predecessor. Furthermore, the delay in the release of GoPro Hero 5 could also be a business decision since the manufacturer is planning to release the Hero 5 barely a year after the launch of its predecessor, the GoPro Hero 4.

Now, if present rumors of similar pricing are true, then this will really put a damper on the sales of its predecessor if the Hero 5 launches right now.  GoPro Hero 5 should feature dual-lens that enables it to record 3D videos with ease. However, we are not sure as to how the 8K resolution would merge with the 3D video recording capability.

Compared to the GoPro Hero 4 that was released earlier, the Hero 5 will be 40 percent lighter and 50 percent smaller than its predecessor, similar to the Hero 4 Session.

Users will be able to enjoy their adrenaline-filled memories in a tremendous 8K resolution of 3840×2160. Other models usually recorded videos at 30 frames per second but the upcoming iteration should be able to record videos at 60 frames per second.

The Hero 5 will also allow users to record 1080p at 60fps, 720p at 100fps, and 1440p at 30 fps. The GoPro Hero 5 will also come with the latest Bluetooth capabilities which greatly help in improving the upload speeds of the camera. The Hero 5 will have dual mics which allow it to improve the sound quality of the videos that it captures.

According to popular rumors, the Silver model will be priced at $450USD while the black model is more expensive at $550USD. With the recent delay being officially announced, expect the device to be launched early next year.

Besides all the other specifications, the GoPro Hero 5 should also have a larger and improved battery life. Its 2800mAh battery should record 2 hours of video when fully charged. Rumors indicate that the GoPro Hero 5 will not come with various features for various models, similar to the case with Silver and Black GoPro Hero 4s.

The earlier issue was quite silly and users were truly disgruntled with such a disparity. With so many improvements and all features packed in all the latest models, the earlier rumors of a similar price could be untrue. In this case, don’t be surprised if the upcoming device comes with a price tag of $450-$550.

  1. The article mentions 8k resolution but gives the figures for a 4k camera 3840 x2160.
For video the resolution 4k or 8k refers to the number of pixel horizontally across the sensor (previously the figure 720 or 1080 referred to the number of pixels vertically)
The difference between a 8 Megapixel sensor and a 8k sensor have been confused, a 8k sensor has a size of 7680 x 4320 Pixels that is equal to 33Mp.
