Google Nexus 2016 Lineup Likely to Be Manufactured by HTC, Comes with Android N Pre-Installed!
The latest reports regarding the Google Nexus 2016 suggest that it might be rolled out in the recent future itself. One of the reasons behind this claim could be accounted to the fact that huge discounts are being offered on both the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P.
The 16GB version of the Nexus 5X is currently available at a price of $284.95 on Amazon. As for the 32GB version, it will cost $65 more than the 16GB variant. B&H is offering a discount on the Nexus 6P.
Reports suggest that B&H is currently offering a $50 discount on the 6P. The good news does not end here as a $50 gift card is also being offered by the online retail shop along with the device. This gift card is immediately applicable which means that users can choose to apply it while purchasing the 6P which will allow them an addition $50 discount on the device.
So ultimately, customers will be able to avail a total discount of $100 on the Nexus 6P by purchasing it from B&H. The price tag of the 16Gb variant of the 6P will stand at $399 after application of the discount and the gift card.
As for the 64GB and the 128GB versions of the device, they are available at prices of $449 and $549 respectively.
Both the 5X and the 6P will be coming with a 1-year warranty and free shipping. Faster delivery is also promised by both Amazon and B7H for the devices.
Experts are speculating that the older devices are being flushed out from the market before the brand new Google Nexus 2016 is rolled out. Reports are coming in which suggest that HTC might be building the next Nexus smartphones.
Renowned leakster Evan Blass claims that the Taiwanese company has already started working on two Nexus devices. These two devices have been given the codenames of S1 and M1. Apparently, the actual internal names of these two Nexus devices are Marlin and Sailfish.
If indeed HTC is building the next Nexus devices, it will not be their first rodeo with Google as the Taiwanese company had in the past worked with Google to build Nexus One and Nexus 9. Rumors claim that the devices that are currently being developed by HTC are going to be the smartphones of the Google Nexus 2016 lineup.
It should be mentioned here that the flagship devices of the Nexus lineup of 2015- the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P were developed by LG and Huawei respectively.
It was also reported that both the devices will be running on Android N which was just announced in the recent past by Google.
Glen Murphy, the director of Android and Chrome UX while talking about the new Android OS stated- “There are many things, like multi-window, that we’ve been spending a lot of time on — hopefully, we can share more about this soon.
We’re working on lots of things right now for N that, of course, we wish we had, you know, yesterday… But we’d spoil the surprise of N if we shared all of them. Split screen is in the works!”
It clearly means that the new OS will be quite advanced and will be even more user-friendly than Android Marshmallow.
Bitbag reports that the upcoming device will not be seeing the light of the day before the end of the ongoing year. Apparently, the design of the device will be quite different from that of the existing Nexus models in the market.
The site also states that the display of the upcoming device will be smaller compared to the Nexus 5x and the Nexus 6P. However, it will be packed with features and rumors are that some of the features that are found in Apple smartphones will find their way into the upcoming device. A metal Unibody design is on the cards as far as the outer design of the device is concerned.
