The first three films in the franchise went on to become timeless classics, whereas the fourth film was about aliens and nuclear resistant refrigerators. The fans of the franchise and the action hero are of the opinion that Indiana Jones 5 needs the magic touch of George Lucas if it’s going to have any chance of being a comeback for Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones.
Some fans were worried about David Koepp returning as the screenwriter for Indiana Jones 5. However, Movie Pilot has reported that Koepp might have the notorious reputation of penning down Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, but he will be working on the script for a story that has been developed by George Lucas, who is noted to be the father of science fiction.
For those wondering if Indiana Jones 5 is going to be the last of the films from the franchise, there is good news. As far as Disney Chief Bob Iger is concerned, Disney is very interested in extending the franchise and they aren’t looking for a reboot where they will be replacing Harrison Ford for a younger actor.
They might go for something like The Force Awakens, where they keep the original characters from the franchise present but include new actors to take the story forward.

Lucas was heavily involved with Crystal Skull including signing off on the horrible, pathetic script which ruined the series (for me at least). I sure hope there is redemption to #5 and with out freaken ants or aliens. I also would love to see redemption for Lucas in regards to creative development but you have to question if he has it in him after 30 years of lack luster films…

I would love to see Indy in more movies. I’m a huge Indiana Jones fan, but even I realize he is getting old. I think Mutt Williams was handled sloppily in the crystal skull film. But I believe with the right casting and a bridge to develop his character and relationship towards his dad Indiana Jones, they could successfully have Mutt Williams take control of the franchise. I did have some fun with the fourth film, true it’s not as enjoyable as the first three, but it’s still watchable, and you can still get a feel for the series in it. I do hope that this new film does make major improvements, and doesn’t completely deny that the crystal skull and it’s characters never happened.
