In case you are hearing a lot of chatter about “For the Watch”, it’s pertaining to what could happen in the Jon Snow storyline. Jon Snow has done really well for himself, rising from being a bastard of Ned Stark to the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch.

If he accepted Stannis’ offer, right now he could have been named Lord of Winterfell. After the return of Wildlings in Castle Black, there is a lot of tension between Jon Snow and the Brothers.

Jon Snow receives the Pink Letter from Ramsay Bolton in “A Dance with Dragons” which details the defeat of Stannis in Battle and also the imprisonment of Mance Rayder. He finally takes the decision to head south to Winterfell but before he is able to begin the journey, Bowen Marsh, along with several brothers, start stabbing the Lord Commander while saying “For the Watch”.

The general storyline therefore, can be easily translated to the Game of Thrones Season 5 finale without many changes. The Pink Letter doesn’t need to show up because the series has already indicated a possible mutiny between the relationship of Jon Snow and the Wildlings.
