Fifty Shades Of Grey: Publisher Taken To Court, James Foley To Direct The Sequel, And More!

It is official! James Foley is going to be the director for the Fifty Shades of Grey sequel. The much anticipated film adaptation of the popular novel by E. L James. Variety has reported that the negotiation with the director is going to begin soon and that he is already on board to direct Fifty Shades Darker.

Universal Pictures has been looking for a replacement director since Fifty Shades of Grey director Sam Taylor Johnson had announced that she will not be directing the sequel of Fifty Shades of Grey. There are reports that Sam Taylor Johnson won’t be returning to direct the sequel since there were creative differences between her and the author of the novel.

In spite of the differences, the two went on to create magic on screen with Fifty Shades of Grey raking in millions of dollar in the box-office. Based on an already popular novel by E. L James there was already anticipation that the film will be doing good business, but nothing prepared them to do a business of over $569 million worldwide.

Fifty Shades Darker will see Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson returning to play the roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele respectively. The film script will be done by author E. L James’ husband Niall Leonard. The film will be produced by E. L James, Dana Brunetti and Michael De Luca.

While Fifty Shades of Grey saw Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele getting to know each other, Fifty Shades Darker will see their relationship developing and the two entering a deeper and more meaningful relationship that will change both their lives completely.

Universal Pictures felt that James Foley is the best man for the job. Foley is well known for his Glengarry Glen Ross, which was a popular 1992 drama starring Alec Baldwin, Al Pacino, Kevin Spacey, Alan Arkin and Ed Harris.

Fifty Shades of Grey sequel gets darker when it comes to the passion and the drama and there is a lot of anticipation about who will play the role of Anastasia’s new boss in Fifty Shades Darker.

Anastasia’s new boss Jack Hyde will create a lot of difficulties in her life and will be making things very tough for both Christian and Anastasia. Initially there were reports that Henry Cavill is going to be playing the role of Jack Hyde in the upcoming sequel, but it looks like that is not going to happen.

Fans of the novel are already speculating about the actors who would do a good job in the role of Jack Hyde and while they have been denied Henry Cavill they are now set on bringing in Jeremy Irvine for the role.

Irvine has won hearts with his performance in the War Horse and fans are aware of the kind of preparation he puts in to perfect his roles. Fans are sure that he will nail the role of a publisher who makes sexual advances towards his employee. To make matters easy, he is also good looking.

This is not where the fans are stopping. Ian Somerhalder was the top contender for Christian Grey until he was replaced by Jamie Dornan. While most fans of the novel aren’t happy with Jamie Dornan as Christian, they are living with it.

However, this doesn’t mean that they will give up any opportunity of getting Ian Somerhalder in Fifty Shades of Darker. Fans feel that Ian Somerhalder should become Jack Hyde in the upcoming sequel since he is already trained in playing a conniving character that has his charms on thanks to his role of Damon Salvatore in The Vampire Diaries.

  1. Jeremy Irvine is too young to play the role of Jack Hyde. Jack is a few years older than Christian in the book. Jack Gyllenhaal would be perfect for this role.
